need help posting to e621
I've been uploading to e621 for a while now, up until I was banned for a 2nd time.
I haven't been uploading since the shogun piece in my FA gallery here.
Something about adding invalid tags...
1st: "Strikethrough tags were invalid or inapplicable and have been removed or changed."
2nd: "You have been told time and time again... Strikethrough tags were invalid or inapplicable and have been removed or changed. You continue to add tags that you were given a warning for in the past."
Before posting, usually, I manually open up e621 in one tab to standardize the artist name (there's quite a number that use different names across platforms)
Then run a few other tags in and change them too.
If you find my tagging to be a little spammy, it's also because I was previously warned for adding too few tags.
As much as I appreciate the mods for enforcing their site policies, I find it easier to just avoid posting to e621 than risk a 3rd ban.
Is there any tool out there that can help me do a sanity check on my tags, before posting up to e621?

I took a quick look at some of your recent posts, and it looks like a lot of the tag mistakes are copy-paste errors which couldn't easily be caught by any tool. They're valid tags, but they just don't apply to the images being uploaded.
For instance, this post [hyperlink] was initially tagged "male/male", "bound", "cock_ring", and "rating:s" [i.e., "Safe" rating]. But it is a solo picture (not M/M), doesn't show anyone bound, doesn't have a cock ring, and it certainly is not SFW.
I think I entered BDSM (for the gear), which may have 'translated' to bound somehow.
I didn't enter rating:s either, so I'll check manually next time after using Postybird TwT
You'd have to check carefully of any tags you did not add yourself since that means that it was switched to another tag that could have a different meaning.
For example, tagging "gay" into a post automatically changes it to "male/male", which means that there are two or more males engaged in romantic or sexual activities.
This would obviously not apply to solo/single characters and this little mistake catches a lot of new taggers.
https://re621.app/
It's a user script that adds a ton of functionality. Shows you incoming tag implications and aliases and such, can click each tag to open its wiki, etc. The site takes accurate tagging extremely seriously. They don't have to be perfect, but they can't miss important things people would want to blacklist or ideally search for. And they can't be outright inaccurate.
It's especially dangerous doing copy/paste for tags. If you do that, perhaps sort them into aspects of a picture and verify the tags apply when adding. I know that's a ton of effort, but they take it seriously.
You can look at things you have uploaded and click Tags/Desc under "history" to see the tag change history. Note that if something says (disambiguation) it means you should remove that tag and use something more specific, which may be outlined in the wiki article for the tag.
Take this for example:
https://e621.net/post_versions?sear....._id%5D=5688670
You added "slit" but it was aliased to slit_(disambiguation). As you can see in the tag history, someone replaced it with the more specific genital_slit.
And tag what you see (TWYS) is very important for e621 tagging. You tagged a knot for example on an image in which none was visible. Things very obvious by context can be tagged as long as they aren't something specific to something that could be visible. For example male_penetrating_male, anthro_penetrating_anthro, penis_in_ass could all be tagged for obscured_anal obscured_sex when both characters are clearly male and clearly having sex, even if you can't see the actual penetration. In fact even transgender characters that you can't tell at a glance must be tagged male or female. There are lore tags to correct that in those cases, and lore tags are not TWYS by definition.
Another big clue is to look at the number of tags when you enter it. That's another thing re621 helps with by showing you as you type, but always check after posting too. If there is a very low number of tag usages, it's probably a mistake. Not always, but it's worth looking into verifying if it's valid if it's a rare or especially new tag.
Some more examples:
Here you tried to use "pet," but someone replaced it with petplay because pet was ambiguous. It's questionable whether even that should be tagged here, by the way, because you can't see anything about that in the image itself. The person correcting it probably should have removed it:
https://e621.net/post_versions?sear....._id%5D=5610200
Here, swordplay isn't valid. In fact no one had removed it until now. Someone did remove knotted_penis, which isn't anywhere in the picture.

For this one, note that swordplay has almost no images. So someone replaced it with swordfight, which does have many results. You tagged male/male, but that is exclusively for romantic or sexual content between at least two males. It should be duo and male only. No pawpads are there, so someone removed that too.

There were so many changes here, just look for yourself:
https://e621.net/post_versions?sear....._id%5D=5686742
Notice here it looks like the artist and/or character owner themselves personally fixed a character and artist tag (that is a guess, but look at the history). You had "electic" and you probably meant "electric" but someone replaced that with the correct "electrostimulation." Notice someone replaced the ambiguous "cuffs" with "ankle_cuff" which implied the specific cuff_(restraint) and restraints.

In this one, there is nothing even the ambiguous "pet" applies to:

Those are a few examples, but open your prior uploads, open the tag history, scroll to the bottom and look at what is crossed out, and scroll up and see the changes be it that they were not valid for the post, or they were corrected by someone.
Note that in your record it asks that you message them after reading up on the tagging wikis. So I think it's the sheer volume of mistakes that resulted in the bans/upload restriction.
I'm really glad I happened to see this journal because I think I understand e621 tags fairly well. I can't keep up with my watched artists and almost never look at journals. I hope this helps!
I confess there is a generic set of tags that I use specific to each character, mainly to satisfy e621's minimum tag count.
Knot and pawpads are tied to Storm, so I'm now noting about the strict TWYS rule since you can't see those all the time.
I think I'll alter my approach to only use the tags I'm super sure about and rely on others to add more ><
If you have trouble finding the 10 minimum tags, you can check the tagging checklist which will provide to you a lot of the basic tags that is expected in a post.

Like for instance sometimes when i try to tag an artist on it the artist comes up but its a charater with the artists name so i have to change it and stuff the only thing you can really do is double and triple check it.
On the too few tags thing if you ever feel like theres not enough tags a small cheat i learned is just start listing exact features of a charater. Body color, hair color, how many toes and fingers lol works every time.
Never ever feel bad about it cause the rules on that site are quite wonky. Have you ever looked through them like realllly closely? The fact that if an artist decides to stop anything they make from being on there then anyone who paid for their art just isnt allowed to post it is kinda wild to me ngl
That small cheat was what I did too, but as per the comment above, just realized I got penalized for tagging my Storm knot when his knot wasn't visible xD (oops)
For a while after my 1st ban I did manually check each post, but life gets busy and tbh I find it quite time consuming and stressful.
I'm a bit of an art slut so I guess this problem is kinda unique to me with my volume of posting...
Thanks for your help, mate!
Usually, I'd write it all up in a text file then paste it in. I'll try this instead, thanks!
