My thoughts on Mass Effect Andromeda
Or as I like to call it, Mass Effect the MMO XD
Well for starters I really like it, yes it is quite rough on the edges and I am not going to delve into the whole facial animations and glitches cause they didn't break the game for me and such things can be patched in the future. Honestly I have encountered very few problems that the internet is full of apparently, and again it never really broke the immersion.
While that the combat is strong, the enviroments absolutely gorgeous at times and the characters (often just the aliens) are very likeable, what I did notice is that this game is a completionist's nightmare. Every rock I visit in order to get a quest done I leave with another 20 under my belt to finish elsewere. My theory is whoever designed this part of the game was dating a completionist, it didn't work out and now people like me have to suffer for it XD
The content is just vast, I was worried at the start that the game would have "Ubisoft Open World Syndrome" but thankfully the worlds in it are more alive and is shifting as you progress, it's not perfect but it could have been a whole lot worse.
And that is my view of the game, it's not the best in the series it has it's flaws and IMO if you never liked Mass Effect then this game is not going to change it much. This is more a throwback to the original Mass Effect that can have a strong appeal to the fans, and again it works for what its trying to do.
I hear there is a Multiplayer somewere but fuck sake if I ever get there in this lifetime, I also in the middle of moving so trying to get the main story done while the boxes pile up would be nice but I am not holding my breath.
Now if you excuse me, I have minerals to scan, plants to collect and a Turian space waif to whoo XD

I'm not as huge for ME as I was several years ago, but I do hope that there might be some good bits that have made it into the game that might expand the world. For the most part though, I think I'm there for the game more than anything else. Thanks for sharing your thoughts dutch C:
I have to say still playing MEA and having loads of fun with it, it's a shame that some people don't give it much of a shot and base it soley on the opening/first part of the game which for some bizzare reason is a bit of a low point but it's really after when it picks up in terms of story and character development. I can understand that ME is not really on your top 1 spot at the moment, which is perfectly fine for our taste develops and even the most die hard fan doesn't have to like everything that is released.
However I do think you will like this one, it's nothing groundbreaking but on the other hand to say that they play it completely safe with MEA is judging it unfair. It has enough content + references to the races and the universe they inhabit to make any fan happy, I will say some of the new races/characters are well thought of and in many cases you will find them appealing. The game can be a bit of a grind at times but it's only how far you are willing to delve in the side quests and any little tidbit that is uncovered during the play of the main game. But even if you just do the basic plot it will result in a heavty amount of hours that need to be invested, regardless what you pick you get a lot of bang for your buck.
I say pick it up when you feel like diving into the ME universe again, a lot of the things people criticized about the game upon release have been patched already and I think that trend will continue on for a while. IMO it's well worth checking out :)
