Mike Pence's personal life oppresses women now, apparently
8 years ago
This is how insane the regressive Left have become; a person *choosing how to engage in their personal life* is now somehow oppressive.
Apparently, Mike Pence will not eat alone with a woman who is not his wife, and will not go to a party that serves alcohol without his wife. This is a *personal choice* of his, and he says it is in order to avoid the temptation to infidelity - and given that he has proven himself a fairly conservative Evangelical Christian in pretty much every other aspect of his life, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and accept that as true until proven otherwise.
Unfortunately, many people (mostly feminists and SJWs) seem to think that by refusing to dine with single women or go to alcoholic social gatherings without his wife, he's refusing opportunities to women and being bigoted and oppressive. In their eyes, it seems, "No means No!" only applies when a woman says it; if it's a man - much less a cis het white conservative male - it doesn't count.
Let's play a game of 'switcheroo', and imagine what would happen if, say, a Muslim woman refused to dine with any men without her husband present, or go to parties that serve alcohol without her husband present. Now I want you to imagine the *absolute silence* from the same groups over this sort of behavior. Indeed, they'd probably say that any criticism is itself hateful and intolerant of Muslims; that's how off the deep-end these folks are.
Ah well; at least it's entertaining watching them freak out over nothing. The blowback is always amusing, too; at some point they're gonna push it too far, and we'll see Trump 2.0.

That being said, it's a strange way to conduct oneself and that's coming from me. Like it comes off less like some moral dutifulness and more like someone who's had infidelity problems in the past and is trying very hard to remain faithful by avoiding pitfalls, like a recovered addict or something. Which, maybe that's the case, don't know the guy. If it is, props I guess for doing better. lol It's so fascinating
