Work Rant

General
So, we had the rare occurrence of having two crews at one station the other day, and we got to talking. Inevitably, the train of topics turned into complaining about the states of things.
And BOY do I have some stuff to complain about.
Ive kind of become blind to some of this stuff, because when you deal with it every day it becomes background noise... But hearing other people bring it up drives the point home and makes you think "Holy shit, why am I okay with this, this is FUCKING STUPID."
Equipment is the name of the game. Normally, we have a few different "rigs" (ambulances) available to us. Two are brand new, cutting edge rigs that are better than the others in ever single way and are like the epitome of efficiency and luxury (EXTREME SARCASM ALERT more on that later). We have maybe four or five rigs that are a few years old. Sure, their age shows, but its not terrible.
And then we have the DINOSAURS. Yes, relics from a bygone era, somehow still in service when they should be enjoying their retirement, rusting away in some scrap yard somewhere.
Now, I have no problem with old things, Im a practical guy, if its not broken, dont fix it.
BUT HOLY SHIT ARE THEY BROKEN.
BOTH are clad in faded paint and decals that are chipping and outdated (same company name, old, no longer relevant color scheme). BOTH have seats that can recline... about two inches. BOTH have holes in the seats and cracked interiors.
"But Siph", you might say, "Shut the fuck up and deal with it, thats just cosmetics."
I AINT DONE
These bad boys alternate being the the repair shop, when their engines give out for one reason or another. THE AIR CONDITIONING DOES NOT WORK (our summertime temperature get up to 46 degrees at times, 114 degrees in freedom units) WE GET PASSED BY BIG RIGS ON THE HIGHWAY, admittedly only when merging, they take a long time to get up to highway speeds.
On one of them, the fuckin DOOR CONTROL PANEL (the panel in the door where the window and door lock buttons sit) IS HANGING OUT OF THE DOOR BY ITS WIRES and the FUCKING HORN DOESNT WORK HOLY SHIT
These rigs, we have had them for years, these problems are not new ones. Yet, we still use them. Not only that, we use them for DAY CAR. Day car, for the unfamiliar, is a shift where the ambulance is not assigned to a station, you are assigned to a street corner, which is where you will sit for 12 hours, barring getting calls or what not.
The ambulance, becomes your station. A STATION WITHOUT AIR CONDITIONING. IN THE SUMMER. FOR 12 HOURS.
And this is just the TIP of my equipment woes. We have a literal laundry list of things like the above problem, which have been, and will continue to be, brought up to upper management. And which have been and will continue to be ignored.
RANTS, RANTS GALORE. I could go one for at LEAST eight more pages on the shit we have to deal with... And i probably will at some point
BUT ANYWAY
fuck it

Ouch. That sounds like these cars should have been replaced decades ago. Better prepare some cooled drinks now, so that you have some for the summer.
