Anthrocon, the final day
For the first time ever, I made over a little over $800 in sales, including one piece in the art show (out of two I had) that sold*. Thanks to all of you who gave me your hard-earned cash.
The profit margin on that is much lower, though. After factoring in the hotel, con membership, flight, and the days at work I had to give away (since I am saving my vacation time for Eurofurence) in order to attend, very little is made. But I'm still keeping all the money separate, as I want to start saving for my Darkthunder suit. I want a raptor that everyone may want to take photos of it. Call it an "ego suit". XD
There were still lots of expectations that weren't met, as usual. Now to prepare for Eurofurence next month, then FC next year. And maybe I'll be brave enough to host my own discussion panel.
Now if only this free wireless were better than the stupid dial-up speeds so I could relax and browse FA as usual. :P
* -- I sold one large, limited edition print of "Pwned Ninja" for the minimum $100 bid. Out of that, the con takes $10, and $40 goes for covering the cost of having it made.
Oh and the suit you took the picture of... I am making it my quest to find it! :D
Now you made me very hungry
It sounds like you'd be better off buying your own internet connection from a provider for a few days. XD
At least something turned out well!
I wish I could go to the Eurofurence, since I live next to Germany, but many factors don't allow: starting studies in institute of technology, no money... And it would be awkward explaining to mother why I would be going to the Germany :)
Now that's an interesting idea and one with which, in the right circumstances, I bet you'd find yourself having a great time.
The rest is something is a dead horse I've beaten way too many times.
