Throughout the course of Chemical Attraction, a prequel to a novel I'm gonna write, there were a LOT of things that got left out, changed, or never came to be. A lot of times, these ideas were scrapped or altered and since we're getting close to the end of the comic (in another ten years at my speed, I know) I figured I'd post some things that got tweaked from Chapter 1 to current chapter 7.

--Back in the day, the comic, Chemical Attraction, was known as SORROW. It would follow a blond haired girl with blue eyes and pigtails, named Stacy, in the 9th grade. She was born from a half-werewolf father and a magician mother named Teresa. The plot somewhat changed, but it followed Stacy and her best friend Shyin, a vampire hunter in disguise, who was protecting her from a murder named Talon, who was seeking to kill Stacy so he could obtain her mom's spellbook.

--Nanaki and Darm were originally the bad guys. This is somewhat evident in their using of Talon and their deeds at the lab. Nanaki was in charge of torture and research and Darm would be the muscle that got the magical creatures and brought them to the lab.

--Rowena was going to be the third Berserker. This idea was scrapped for obvious reasons but it did help me design her and give her those bright pink eyes.

--Rowena's power was going to be Lullaby. Basically, she'd be able to use her eyes to calm down Talon if he got out of hand. This ability obviously doesn't work and doesn't exist. It's like there's a hole in the series now. (Too soon)

--Talon was originally going to have bred with No-Name to make Gluttony. Because of this her coat color was cream and white but the idea was scrapped by the first chapter.

--Originally, Talon was going to be locked in a cage in Nanaki's basement and would have bore his way out of the wall and outside. But after doing some research, that would, especially in most American-styled houses, collapsed the first floor with his strength and the size of the hole left behind. RIP furniture, though.

--Kiba would have sold Talon out to the lab to get him killed, rather than tested on. This was written back with SORROW where Kiba was more of an abuser to Talon, as was his brother, Koto.

--Ayame was originally blond with blue eyes and white furred and haired in wolf form. THis is evident in chapter 3? but was scrapped later on. She was always drawn with black hair and eyes in my high school sketchbook. I dunno why this was a thing I did making her blond.

--Teresa was going to be the mage that Chitsume bred with but due to obvious reasons down the road, that idea was scrapped. I did design the mage to look slightly like Teresa in homage though.

--Darm was supposed to be a manticore that shot beams of white-hot light from his hands and that's why he wore sunglasses.
I'm legit on this.

--Raxx was going to be Darm's bodyguard but it made no sense later on so was changed.

--In the scene where No-Name was in the cage next to Talon and he broke through, it was because she was in heat and it confused and intrigued his wolf brain. He was out for that sweet sweet ladybit. This was obviously changed once I got rid of her as the breeder.

--Jamalai was going to be trapped at the lab with her older sister but I never finished her design and therefore ditched the idea.

--Darm was never supposed to be Chitsume's temporary vessel; it was actually supposed to be Paradox. He would have transformed into Chitsume and spoke in his voice but that would have been complicated and dumb. I did keep this idea slightly when he changed into Talon.

--The tree in the lab's main room was never supposed to be there. I added it in to give the place a more noticeable appearance since the other rooms are either generic lab rooms or the training room where there's lots of trees (when we first met Leon and Raxx). The tree has stayed.

--Aurum was going to be Darm's love interest. You can see why that was scrapped.

--Despite being of a higher caliber and rank to Teresa, Vincent still obeys her in the hopes she'll make a new contract with him. She made a contract with him back in the day but instead, the two cameos were there to take his place since chasing and attacking Talon didn't seem 'bad' enough.

--Teresa was originally going to be Talon's mother's ghost that grew vengeful and wanted his death.

--Ayame was never supposed to be a third berserker OR be in the story at all. But as I drew her and wrote more about her, I grew too attached and wanted there to be a grounding force for Talon and his struggles.

--Nanaki was supposed to assassinate Talon at the end of the story and leave him to die, not knowing he'd survive. This was changed to a better, sadder ending.

--Nanaki was never supposed to be a hellhound. She was supposed to be a vampire and an Immortal hunter. "Vampire" being a succubus. This idea was scrapped because it'd be too obvious. This was tweaked the day after I drew the page where Talon sucked the venom from her blood.

--Chitsume was going to be the hero of the story. Then I came to my senses.

--Chitsume actually started out as a Digimon I drew when I was in fifth grade called a Lincoramon. Those that get commissions from me might recognize that name.

--Koto was going to be the one who took Talon's place at the lab after he refused to come back. Koto said no. Don't be a Koto.

--There was going to be a time skip at the lab of 10 years where Talon would be training an adult Rowena. THis didn't make sense because they age extremely slow. Instead, this idea was tweaked and will be done somewhat in a later chapter.

--Raxx was going to be completely mute. I figured giving him painful gurgles and wheezes would show that he was in pain a lot more despite appearing stoic. Even without his injuries he never spoke much as it is.

--Talon's original name was...you ready...Tsume. Which literally just means Talon. I got tired of people in high school going TUH SOOMEE???? every time they saw a page being drawn.

--Nanaki's hair used to be similar but instead, the bun was massively high and spiky. It was terrible and dumb. Her hair was like 4 feet tall.

--Darm used to have a chin piercing and a mullet. Why did I do that...?

--In an old page for Chemical Attraction, Talon used to have 6 other forms, named after the Seven Deadly Sins. I scrapped this idea because it was too complicated and explaining he got a form because he was horny made no sense. Instead, I kept my favorite of the bunch, Gluttony.

--Gluttony was originally a villain that worked under Teresa. This was changed because she hates hellhounds and demons as it is and it seemed odd for her to use one as a pet/servant.

--Paradox was going to be a werebear. I'm not sure why this was the first drawing I did of him but he was a bear. On the same vein, Rowena was going to be a kitsune.

--Lily was never supposed to make a comic appearance but after writing the final fight, and after showing Chitsume as a villain, I needed more meat to it and she was the perfect option.

--Andddddd Hazardone Laboratory was planted smack dab in the state of Virginia. I dunno why. I even gave it an address at one point that turned out to be a trailer's location. That was changed for obvious reasons and to avoid people Googling the address thinking it was where I lived.
