Do gaming mice work in the same fashion?
My mouse has like 8 or 9 hot key buttons on it's side haha

Not sure if the instructions at the link will apply to gaming mice too, but you can definitely do it with them.

I have my mouse configured to use the buttons to do stuff like this using the software that came with the mouse. I'm sure you could find something compatible with yours too.

i wonder if this would work with knock off cintiqs that lack hot keys

I uses cintiq. They can be good partners

It's neat but... you could map any device in the same manner. One time I mapped the keyboard to a playstation controller and wrote a short essay.

XD I like Joy-con more is because it's small, I can hold it with half hand .(And my fingers can still press hot keys buttons on cintiq)

My left Joycon is actually buggy. Gotta get it fixed First! X.x
