Furry Weekend Atlanta aftermath
A bit late in posting, but the phrase "Better late than never" fits my FWA experience this year quite well :p
Due to difficulties getting enough time off work, I arrived at the convention Friday evening, missing an entire day of the convention. However, even with only two days to enjoy it I had a truly wonderful time! Met a lot of old friends I haven't been able to hang out with all year, and got some time in the Alley as well (will hopefully have some drawings to show off soon). Plus, the theme for this year was video games! I've been a gamer since the 80's, and was happy to discover a massive video game room/arcade this year. Of course it was over too soon, but it's made me look forward to FWA '18 all the more, and next time, I plan to arrive on Wednesday at the latest XD
Oh! And speaking of FWA 2018, I absolutely love the theme they picked: Galactic Gunslingers. Yes, a blend of Western and Sci-Fi, a la Cowboy Bebop (one of my favorite animes) and Firefly (one of my favorite live-action shows), among other cowboy-cyberpunk aesthetics. I can't wait to see how FWA uses this theme next year; they've always done a magnificent job going all out to celebrate previous years' themes, more so than any other con I've ever been to. It's inspired me to get involved in some way, and I'm already developing an associated story with a fennec fox and rabbit (FWA mascot species) to match and use in some way as the convention approaches next year.
First, however... Anthrocon is a few months away, and I have every intention of spending as much time in Pittsburgh as I can...
