Back from hospital - still okay - I think

Two days ago I ended up calling an ambulance for myself. I woke up soaked in sweat and in extreme abdominal pain. I tolerated it for almost two hours before making the call, then decided that it could be my appendix, so I'd better call 911.
After much checking and a CAT scan, they weren't sure what it was. My appendix was a little inflamed, but not nearly to a level of any concern, so it probably wasn't that. They ended up keeping me overnight, and for another day, trying to figure it out, but the pain went away during the night there. They never did figure it out, and eventually let me go home. It still could be my appendix, but they're thinking most likely that it was food poisoning or maybe a virus.
A couple hours ago, after I got home, the pain started to return, and went away again. I have no clue what is happening, but it's not looking like food poisoning now. If I vanish from the net for too long or something, it probably means something want wrong inside me that they couldn't fix. It bothers me that they can't figure it out, even after a scan. They pretty much ruled out gas, saying things seemed to be flowing normally inside me. Nothing they think it could be comes and goes and comes and goes like what I'm experiencing.
Luckily, a friend went back to my house to grab one of my raccoon plushies for me, so I could actually get some sleep while in the hospital. I just hope the pain doesn't return yet again. I'm not too fond of the idea of going back in.

I've been reading Robert Novak's autobiography "The Prince Of Darkness". At one point a family doctor, whom his family thought little of, determined he had spinal meningitis and even drove a long way through a snowstorm past a number of hospitals until he reached one he knew specialized in curing that condition. His diagnosis proved accurate and the hospital cured Novak. And Novak's drinking problem was also solved during that time.
