As a long time Warhammer 40k fan and player of the previous DoW parts I say this:

Fuck no. They messed this game series up so hard making it super casual and MOBA style. It's just sad.

Not even so casual as it just FEELs slow n clunky too.

I tried it, it was horrible imo.

I had preordered it, canceled it right away after the beta.

Elite units were way OP while the units themselves were squishy ultra hard counters to one another. Not fun atall.

It's as if they took what made the first dawn of war good, and gave it some of DOW 2's spicey graphics & tactics~

I love how the eldar feel in this one, feels more fluid to play if that makes sense haha
& the orks, oh boy, even better than ever~ (Just not sure why everyones complaining about their voices, they've always been that way x3)

I shan't be getting it. Mainly because it won't hold a candle to the original, which wasn't the most tightly designed game but it was an excellently solid RTS as well as being a fantastic real-time adaptation of 40k's turn-based, tabletop roots.

Also just the trailer, that trailer with Angelos doing a fucking forward somersault in Terminator armour had me cracking up. Just, are you for real?

I just returned it. It (feels like it) has less content than the demo of the first game. They one game mode, no annihilation, which is a moba. Graphics look cool except that they only have one aspect ratio, and instead of reducing that they make it blurry instead. They also only have 3 races like the demo of the first game.... It no where near worth the 60 dollars it is priced at... I would recommend anyone redownload the demo of the first game instead of playing that shit...also you can only build 4 building including listening post. ( Barracks, Armory, Listening Post, I forgot the last one)

HOWEVER if they add 3 more races, and more units and more buildings, I may reconsider re-picking it up.

Comparisons to Mobas or starcraft are unfounded. Plays more like warcraft 3 if anything. Strong hero units supported by somewhat week troops.
That said although more similar to DoW 1 it is quite different then 1 or 2. Most of the hate is because of that.

Lots of cut corners and penny-pinching design choices. No remapping of keys, at all. No camera rotation and limited zooming due to art not being done from all angles. No nice and easy to see UI for grouped units. selecting a unit to use one of it's abilities deselects the group. space marines other than the heros are tiny and die like the imperial guard used to. Reinforcing a cannon-fodder squad requires being at special areas.
Honestly, it would be an ok game on it's own, if shallow, but slapping 'dawn of war" on it is an insult the the series. Only buy if you loved DoW2 and thought the first one, and dark crusade, were boring.

You're in to tactical games?
C&C Red alert was the only tactical game I played and loved in the early 2000s.
Idk maybe cuz it was cartoonish style?

I was browsing Steam and it seems there are a lot of those type now days.
If you are not sure about it don't buy and check the other games.
Look it up at least 15min of gameplay on Youtube.

I always tell myself, if am not 100% sure about a thing I wont do/get it :)

With my friends is was like a 50/50 split, so I wanted opinions lol

Good call. I had the cash and needed a game to spend it on and I'm enjoying it a lot ^^
