Before I get those comments, yes I am mentally ill! I am by no means required to give you a list but I do experience psychosis! Like a full on real psycho, not a fake one you get to pretend to be for a weekend.
So, if you weren't aware, Furpocalypse has decided that their theme this year is 'Haunted Asylum'.
Ooh yeah, you heard me. That's real. Like, I'm not making this shit up.

If it isn't obvious enough, this is fucking terrible. There is such a stigma against the mentally ill, ESPECIALLY those with 'scary' symptoms (violence, psychosis, self-harm, etc) that events like this continually promote.
"Well I'm mentally ill and I don't care" - I'm glad it doesn't bother you, but seeing this kind of thing celebrated and joked about is extremely harmful to others.
"That kind of stuff doesn't happen anymore" - Yeah, it does. Google is your friend. Also books. If you REALLY need a personal, IRL story and you aren't joking around about it I may tell you privately, but you really shouldn't need it.
"Well we're all in this fandom so we're all crazy lol" - Yeah, people have been saying this. A lot. And you're all terrible. Call me back when you're getting tested for schizophrenia at 16 and all your doctors stare at you like you're a freak. Then you can be 'crazy lol'.

I wasn't really aware of Furpocolypse existed...like I'm all for furry conventions but meh, I'm not interested now.
