it's working. The board does require you to have SP2 for winXP though.

I think in 2008, there is supposed to be SP3 coming out. If one were to download it, would it work with SP 3, like it works with SP2 and above, or ONLY SP2?

Also, why won't it work with SP1?

Microsoft announced a while ago that they're ending all support for xp in like 8 months. No SP3 or anything. They want users to upgrade to Vista.

So currently, since SP2 is the highest version out, it is the only version it works with. I don't know why it doesn't work with SP1.

Any odd chance we could leave stuff for ya? It looks like it's big enough to give a lot of people room to draw and there was a nice back view when I jumped on, and I didn't see anyone else around, so I figured stuff would stay until it was deleted.

You upgraded to vista already? Everything software based that microsoft releases is released before it's ready. Vista still has a bunch of known driver issues, security holes, and a few other bugs. Not a good idea to go to a new OS untill microsoft releases SP1 for it. I've no idea if it's compatable with Vista. Make sure your not useing internet exporer 7(That thing is horrible right now), also make sure your OS is updated fully, including any optional updates. If that still doesn't work, I'de download vista compatable java from # they even have one yet)

If that still doesn't work, the only other thing I can think of us running a dual boot system =p Personally, your best bet as you'll end up hitting quite a few hassles with Vista right now =p

eh the computer i bought was preloaded with vista. im going to grab firefox if they have one that will work with vista.

got firefox and java 8-) it worked.. left a quick face of nova..

i need to get better at drawing with a mouse..

I logged in with firefox and XP SP2 and it appears to work. - I wouldn't mind popping in, saying hello and having a go, that is, if you don't mind a complete amateur. Takes me ten hours just to produce the sort of work I have on my FA page. - Heh, art newbies.

I just cleaned it out. I think artists should be free to erase something if they want room to draw, as long as the thing they are erasing looks finished, or has been on there with no progress for more then three days.

This board does not reset, so work that's on there, will stay as you've seen. Despite that, it's still an online drawing board none the less, and anyone who uses it should realise that there work could be erased before it's completed. I'm hopeing that this won't be the case 99% of the time, if people follow the erasing rules =p But still, the risk exists.

Hrm. I tried it myself. It works okay. My tablet however hates it. I have this silly thing where if you push the pen against the screen for more than a certain time, it fires a right click. Apparently, doing that while trying to draw on this paint board causes it to stop responding to pen input! :P Here's hoping I can get that one nailed down.. would be nice to sketch an such in real-time with others, without having to go through the pain of OC. :P

Yes, I do. It's just an option I need to remember to disable, when I don't need to worry about right-clicks. This isn't the only program said feature has messed with in the past. :P
Anyway, it won't matter much.. I can't be expected to do any -real- drawing until I can find a reliable, cheap way to prop up my laptop in a sturdy fashion, so the screen is easier to draw on. :P Otherwise.. my neck suffers from bending over, and the cramps/headaches produced make any drawing near impossible for me to do.

That's still really strange. I use a Tablet PC myself for it, and right clicking does nothing in the board. Anyways, I don't know if this will help, but I know Staples carries some incline desks where you can turn part of the desk to set your tablet on. But there is a nicer, smaller one that can fit almost anywhere. It's just about a 1.5 foot by 1.5 foot wood slab that turns and is connected to a rollable floor stand. I need to get myself one =) The acheing neck and back sucks, lol
