Well, theoretically, for Skyrim you could always run some mods on it. There's a great one called Alternate Start, that allows you to start out differently such as through a shipwreck, being a patron at an inn, or already being a member of a guild. One housing mod I would definitely recommend is clockwork castle, a fantastic little mod that has a short plotline, but afterwards nets you this amazing self sustaining and very organized mansion. It's one of the better house mods out there on the market. For quests there are several I would recommend. The first would be the forgotten city, a nice little mod where you have to help an underground community out. The second is the Gray Cowl of Nocturnal, a fun little nostalgic romp into the gray cowl from oblivion. It's just a nice source of nostalgia for such times. Finally there is Maids II, a longer mod but also very in depth. The name is more of a fooling mechanism as the stuff and storyline you get into are really amazing.
