By the rushed look at the interface it looks like an expanded version of that flash based Sonic character maker. In all practicality there are probably a few base body types based on the main characters and variations of each. I don't think there's anything female along the lines of Rouge's body type, but possibly along the lines of Blaze and Cream for shape. From the trailer I don't think there's much in terms of clothing in the first place to suggest gender aside from eye lashes. Otherwise this will be interesting, especially once people start moding the windows version.
