Writing this journal much like with my werewolf one to explain some things that people may have been confused about or things that won't be touched up on in Chemical Attraction, as it's about werewolves, not the hellhounds. There will be a ranking chart added in the future showing hellhound types and whatnot, but for now this journal will have to do.
--Hellhounds are, of course, hounds and dogs, and as such cannot be any other species. I mentioned other creatures can be demons but a feline demon would not be a hellhound. Pretty common sense.
--Hellhounds have five rankings and are placed within those ranks on a multitude of levels. Horn type, power type, power level, contract numbers and successes, and personality.
-Rankings go as followed from weakest to strongest: Terra/Land, Igni/Fire, Aki/Ash, Vuri/Light, and Void/Dark. Other Immortals have dubbed them as followed: Incubus/Succubus, Imp, Vampire, Brood, and Voidlord.
--Among these rankings, only Voidlords get a number, 0 to 12th. Vincent is a Sixth while Cade is the First. The Zero has been unseen for centuries.
--Hellhound appearances, since they are all seductive demons, change based on whoever is watching them. They could look vastly different from one person to the next though their gender never changes.
--Hellhounds can become human and walk among them in said form. They can choose to hide their horns at will and keep it that way for years.
--All hellhounds have a portal they can use to traverse to the Realm. This is their "hub world" and where they remain until a contract has been forged.
--Hellhounds do not need to eat or sleep often in the human world, but most choose to as the food is quite different. Some hellhounds sneak to the human world to indulge in said snacks.
--All hellhounds have the same color eyes in human form as they do in hound form. Some can change their eye color at will, other use contacts or sunglasses. Of don't use any at all, like Aurum.
--Contracts can be formed from any species to a hellhound. HUman desires give them the most power and sustenance so hounds are generally drawn to them. Once a contract is formed, the human host gets the same mark on their body as the hellhound does. Each mark is different and unique and cannot be replicated or similar to another's.
--Much like Immortals, hellhounds cannot die through old age and unlike most Immortals, they can be reincarnated if they fulfilled enough contracts or have a strong enough will to come back. This process is slow and can take years. Some hellhounds take so long that they are given a new body as the old one decays and disappears with time.
--Hellhounds can temporarily possess humans if a contract is branded on them. THis possession generally takes place without permission and only lasts a few minutes. if a hellhound feels their contract was betrayed, they often do this to kill the human bu throwing them off of buildings, killing anorher human (and getting them framed) or even just causing mayhem. This is quite a rare phenomenon but was common centuries ago.
--Hellhound rankings also cause their horns to grow or shrink in different shapes and sizes. A succubus will have smaller, less impressive horns than a Voidlord, for example. If a hellhound gains a rank, their horns often change and grow in size and impression.
--Hellhounds come in all variations of colors, from natural to unnatural. They do not come in pink or white though. Most unnatural colors, like purple are in markings such as streaks or dorsals, not the entire body.
--Markings on the hound can also change with a rank upgrade though this takes time if it happens at all. The higher the rank, often the more complicated and unique the pattern. Some hellhounds, however, like to keep their markings the same as they always were.
--All hellhounds have something on them that glows aside from their eyes. THis can be a scar, their horns, their claws, paws, and markings on their fur. Nobody's quite sure why this is; some speculate it's to help them travel through the Realm, which is quite dark compared to Earth.
--All hounds have an innate ability. Whether this is fire abilities, rock abilities, healing, or more. No two hounds have the same ability. it's said that Immortals such as werewolves learned to harness gifts from watching the hounds.
--Hellhounds cannot say no to a contract once they have agreed to it. Once they take it, they must fulfill it, even if it takes them years to do so. To disobey is death, of which there is no reincarnation. This death is fulfilled by the Council (all Voidlords ranked 1-12). THis process is slow and painful, and every hit essentially removes a human desire from their body. The more contracts they completed, the longer the process.
--It's said that werewolves were hellhounds that never quite formed properly though it's more of a tall tale than any truth. Hellhounds tease to each other that if they fail contracts they'll be cast down to Earth as a werewolf.
--It's extremely rare for hellhounds to have wings, though some strong hellhounds can summon them in dire needs temporarily, if they have the ability.
--Much like werewolves, hellhounds keep their human hair in hound form, though it can become longer, shorter, or have colored streaks in it when in hound form.
--Medical hellhounds are rare and can use their abilities to, of course, heal others. Because of this, some hellhounds tend to take a medic with them on more dangerous contracts. Outside of this, these hounds generally stay in the Realm to heal those injured from missions finished. They are important and as such never go on front-line missions. They are sent on contracts that are easy, however.
--Three hellhounds can perform what's known as a Cleanse. They essentially do what the Voidlord Council does: they emove sins from a host. This process takes one whole year. Each hound gets the host for four months and removes the sin slowly. Because this happens in the Realm, the 'food' is more potent and can feed a hound for years. Talon partook in a Cleanse before Chemical Attraction.
--Despite their name, most hellhounds are quite calm and friendly, and befriend Immortals and humans on the surface. A hellhound as an ally is a powerful thing.
--Hellhounds are opportune creatures and generally only confirm contracts they know they can complete with ease or little difficulty. Some hellhounds even take on several contracts to make sure they get the most out of their trip to Earth.

How come it says that a hellhound cannot say no to a contract, but then after that it says that a hellhound will only confirm a contract they can complete with ease?
