something that I recently discovered is wood stain works beautifully on leather and volume wise it is much cheaper, for 7 or 8 dollars you can get a 1 pint can of the stuff but you are limited to wood like colors. but I have seen black, a standard clear could be the rawhide and a Red Oak could possibly be the chocolate.

gotta make sure you get the "penetrating stain" type or it wont soak into the leather. and not all of what you put on will soak in, after about 30 seconds you have to wipe off the excess and if you want it darker you'll have to wait about 30 minutes to put another coat on. It takes a little longer then normal stain but I think it looks just as good and you can get different shades out of it.
