Price Changes - High Resolution.

Recently I had done a trial with 300 DPI resolution.
Two badges, which both came out quite nicely, and didn't take a ton more time than I had previously been drawing them at.
Because of this, I've decided to go ahead and up all of my commissions to 300 DPI. Turns out I kind of enjoy the non-pixel zooming. That enjoyment surpasses my fear of brush strokes being seen... Yes, I did have a fear of that for some reason or another. However, the larger sizes also enable me to really focus on putting forth good detail.
There is the added time, and effort of doing this though... And that is what I'm here to notify everyone about.
Because of the step up in resolution, and time taken, I've also had to up my prices to accommodate the work.
Some things have not gone up that much, while other things have increased a bit. Especially that of larger works like 7x9+.
Works that will take considerably longer to complete.

I don't want anyone to feel left out. I've been there enough to know the feeling quite well.
that said, i would not lower them on your end of things!!! The amount of work and detail is epic and you might just be selling yourself short however I understand wanting to be low enough most can still buy a commission from you :)
Just gotta figure out what those would be. I should be able to think of a few things.
possibly as badge class ?
you do have cheaper items but it seems they take a bit to do given their pricing
unless you find some simply and crazy fast art style i doubt you'll find anything smaller you could do.
and i'd class ACEO (did i even write that right) to fit the same class as badges
Love your art and you got to charge what you got to charge but I will say those are some massive jumps in price on your full size work from before, even for the 7x9 if you assume a 2 char w/ background. By chance do you have any comparison's you can show of 100DPI vs 300DPI to illustrate the higher details by chance?
I still hope to get something from you in the future, it just means for me it'll take a lot longer to save for :)
5x6 inches at 300 DPI = 1500 x 1800 pixels, where as at 100 DPI it's only 500 x 600 pixels for the same size.
I currently do not have any high res references for the larger pieces, as I've only somewhat recently gotten a computer that can handle the high res stuff.
I do intend to try to stick with the larger DPI now that I can, because it does lead to better printing options for the commissioner, but as said above, I also intend to come up with a few more reasonably priced items for people who just cannot afford such high prices.
That being said, adult artwork (to be posted on my other account) will now be the same price as regular artwork for large pieces.
That is a REALLY good resolution for that size, definitely worth the price.
Can't wait to see some more stuff as it's commissioned :) Any chance you're opening for more badges soon or anything of that nature? ^_^
I was wondering, the Sketch badges vs Badges - both look amazing, is the difference in the detail of the background, and perhaps the lighting? Just curious, as my vision isn't the best and they just both look amazing!
By the way, none of your images hosted on photobucket.com are loading for me, although the site's front page is.
Idk what's going on. If it continues I will have to change it.
Plus, some artists with lower prices tend to work faster and have larger queues which brings in more money faster. Whereas with you, smaller queues, more attention to detail, means higher prices to accommodate the varying income.
I think the increase is justified. As for cheaper solutions, why not offer something like quick sketches, or the doodles you have on your Patreon? Things that don't need as much polishing.
