have fun sketching... what was the final total?

I've pondered doing this kind of thing too...but I don't know if my sketchwork is good enough for me to do it...

Then again, at $5 a pop, I doubt it really needs to be brilliant. It can still look pretty good anyway. XD

Well I really started this because of one purpose

I.Love.To.Draw

And the many different characters and trying to make sure every image is unique, different, and interesting, and has the individual flavor of each character really helps with my drawing skills. Keeping me out of a formula and constantly trying new things. It's so fun.

The other thing was that, I do need money, but I can't sit there and feel sorry for myself needing money. If the people are having fun while I'm having fun, chances are the drawing is going to be good, they are going to be happy, and I'm going to be more pleased with my work.

One of the things I would love to do is be like  gunmouth  kamicheetah and  gideon who get people who CLAMOUR to get sketches from them. They charge between $40-$50 and the sketches are WELL worth it. But my stuff isn't quite up to snuff like their work is. While I do know that my stuff is decent enough and I can convey well enough, I'm not nearly as refined and I at some point want to get there. Where the quality of my work is worth a good chunk of change...

Eventually what I want to be doing is storyboarding for major films and this provides me a good lesson in sitting down and doing the job. I've storyboarded before, hell I've directed, animated and done layout before among many other things. This helps to keep me in practice and focus while having fun. Reminding me how much fun it really is to draw.
