life update!

★ ★ ★ stars in your mind, stars in your heart
It's officially been a month since I graduated from college (time flies!), and you all are probably wondering "where's all the art you have free time to do now, Tacita? why are you doing so many adoptables??"
Regarding the lack of art, I've had a very slow build up of soreness and pain in my right wrist. It's been building without me realizing it (until last month) for about 6 months to a year or so now. It started off with your typical sore wrist after I would draw for long periods of time, and slowly got more frequent until last month, when the feeling of soreness became constant and I began to get occasional twinges of pain in my wrist and/or fingers.
You've probably thought by now "oh shit she means carpal tunnel" but thankfully it's not! You get numbness from carpal tunnel and I've had no numbness at all.
Basically I've just wayyy overworked my wrist without any breaks. Some artists/people are more prone to getting pain/soreness in their wrists than others, and it turns out I'm one of those people.
So I went to a wrist doctor, got my right wrist x-rayed and looked over, and basically all he said that I needed to rest it with a wrist brace and take anti-inflammatory meds. He gave me some anti-inflammatory steroids to take, but I'm way to terrified of the side effects to take them (thanks, emetophobia). This just means that it'll take longer for my wrist to heal, providing I stay off it and wear my brace (I was doing pretty well until I pushed my wrist a little too far excising and made my recovery back track a few days lol).
I can still draw over short periods of time, and color's a lot easier on my wrist. Both I still have to do with my wrist brace on, and I'm still trying to take it easy from drawing so my wrist can rest. It's driving me a little bit crazy not being able to draw all the time, but I'm managing!
As for the influx of adoptables on my adopt account, I'm currently unemployed and don't want to mooch completely off my dad while living with him, so the adopts have worked as a great side income for now to ease my conscience and let me buy my own things.
I haven't gotten a job yet because (big news) my dad and I are moving this month! We both agreed that waiting to look for a local job after moving would be the best thing to do. I've never moved houses before, so it's a mix of sad and excite haha. I'm still going to be checking my messages on here and the other sites I'm active on, but I won't be on quite as much as I have been the past month or so. We're only moving a couple of towns over so it's not a huge move, but it's still big and is going to take some time to tackle.
TL;DR: My wrist is overworked and sore (so it needs rest) and I'm moving houses soon! Thank you for your patience! <3
