It means that you weren't raised in the way that would have worked for you. It's not bad per se.

I think that article makes some interesting points, though I wouldn't totally agree with them.
I do think that I was raised in an atmosphere that fostered insecurity, and I also grew up without having a lot of control in my life..
I think that still affects me now, but at the same time, I'm not sure that this article is totally accurate. I think it jumps to conclusions with their cause and effects.. reasonable conclusion, but parenting and growing up are experiences built from trying to understand each other and figure out their own path..
Behavior is a result of experiences as well as who people are on their own, and kids will act out even if they are exposed to other stimuli. If those are the results you're seeing, maybe it is a mistake on the parent, but it could also be the child trying to figure things out or having a bad day.

Overall though, I think that's a good moral, that parents should try to understand the effect they have on their child.

I can see what you guys mean. So you may see yourself in those situations, you shouldn't take it all into consideration for how things turned out at this point. Other things factor in too but the most important thing is to break away from stuff like this and push towards what you love.
