That's terrible! I hate when such things happen. I've had something similar happen to me yesterday at work, although I was able to recover a whole quarter's work from temporary files. Data lods is something terrible and it does tend to happen while one's too busy to do a copy of their files.
Have you tried giving the hard drive to a proffesional and have them try to get the data back, at least some of it? Those things cost a lot, but are often priceless compared to the precious data.

Every time I move all my files into my usb or my other hard drive section, it became un responsive. So I decided to copy one by one and choose the files that are the most important, such as wips and unfinished sketches, and in posted works. I couldn't move all finished works and all work files because it might go unresponsive or not enough space. This is for the better, I hope.
