Anthrocon trip results

Hey everyone, I got back home from my trip to Anthrocon earlier today. MAN, that was one of the most fun trips I ever had. I got to meet all new kinds of furrys and got to meet with Telephone. The convention center was huge compared to what I see from my local furry convention, Furry Migration.
On last thursday, I woke up really early to go and pick up
FlyingFire to give her a ride down to AC. We had a nice chat on the way there, getting to know each other and all. Couldn't believe all the road constructions we had to go through, not to mention all the toll booths. We met up with some of her friends along the way and were able to make it there that afternoon. All I did when I got there was dropped off my stuff in the room with my friend from work, went to the convention center to pick up my badge, then went back to the hotel room and took a shower and went straight to bed. I drove for over 16 hours straight, with including stops for food, restroom, and gas.
That friday, I woke up early at 5:30am local time, and was excited to see how the con would be. I went to the opening ceremonies and got to see the guest of honor, Charlie Adler. Here's a link of what AC posted for the Guest of honor: http://www.anthrocon.org/goh. After that, I decided to explore the dealer's den and met up with
Kadath. I was surprised that he recognized me from seeing my two badges of my fursona Zaki. We chatted about how he actually was thrilled on the one commission I did with him and said that it did cause a lot of jealousy of his followers. He was a really nice person to meet and getting to know. I bought one of his Puzzles mouse pad, piece of art and one of his books. After that, I decided to look in the artist alley and saw other artist that I follow here. like gNAW, Henbe, and met up with
Ritts He also recognized me too for a different commission and said that he would love to do more with my character. We also had a good chat with how I admired his one character, Rochelle. I did buy one of his Casual Thigh day's book and a disc of all of Rochelle artwork for a good reasonable price.
On Saturday, I was trying to go to the Luncheon with my friend, since he was a super sponsor, but he was also entered in the dance competition, which was at the same time. So I misted out on the lunch food they served in there to get ready for the Fursuit Parade. But after the parade, I did get a chance to meet up with
Sciggles and was able to get the badge she made for me, which was very well done, i might add. And was able to hang out with her and her friends in the Zoo and got to know them pretty well. Afterwards, I did more exploring, took some pictures of furries and went to some panels. I also had a chance to meet
Gillpanda in the zoo and find that Gill is an interesting person. Sometimes random, but in a good way.
On sunday, I got my stuff packed into my car before heading back to the con and was able to meet
Kabier and
Jasonafex. Even though it was short, I chatted with them about how I admired their artwork and animations, that they gave me a hug for it. X///3 I took my last chance in the dealer's den to get some stuff and actually got a chance to meet Charlie and get his autograph on pics of his voices of Buster bunny and T-bone from the shows: Tiny Toons and Swat Kats. Those shows were my childhood and I got to get his autographs and see him in person. After the closing ceremonies, I drove back home. FlyingFire was able to get a ride back with her friends. So I drove alone back early this morning.
In conclusion, This was one trip that I will never forget. Got to meet with some artist I follow here and got to be in AC for the first time. Only things that I would do different for next time going. One, I will fly to it instead of driving. TOO MANY TOLL BOOTHS, less time to travel, and simpler. Two, See of getting a room closer to the con and maybe get a Super Sponsor badge next time. and Three, save up more money for it than having only about $300 to spend.
I will be posting the pictures I took from the con tomorrow. And I hope to get a chance to meet up with them again and chat some more. And if the artists that I listed here sees this, I just wanted to say, It was an honor to meet you and hope to get more chances to chat and hang out in future conventions.
