I'm having a super hard time coping. They were my growing-up band. I have so many good memories that happened while listening to them.
That, and the way he went. It's really really horrible and tragic and hits home for so many with mental illnesses.

yeah they were literally the first band i saw that wasn't with my mom chaperoning me to classic rock stuff. i haven't listened to them much in recent years (although i remember hearing their newer stuff and being pleasantly surprised) but chester was always sort of a case of "don't care for the music anymore, but i hope he's doing well." he dealt with a lot during his life, and it breaks my heart to hear he's gone... especially by his own hand. he struggled so much with suicidal tendencies and self harm and addiction and helped me feel not alone during a time when i did as well... i'm surprised how hard it hit me.

I didn't listen to Linkin Park regularly, but I did during some rough patches in my life. To hear the news that the singer whose songs helped me cope through suicidal tendencies has himself died of suicide...yeah, I'm not even sure what it is I'm feeling right now.

i did a LOT when i was younger, but i always had a love for chester because he had been through so much and had struggled through... you pretty much put it into words though. it's a shock to the system when i'd kind of moved on and hoped he was doing well but had not been paying enough attention. so heartbreaking.
