What is the best use for old characters?
I kind of ask myself that question a few times, I don't have 'many' characters but during the years I've certainly had a couple, but just as they come they go! Sadly I actually like them quite a bit, but I'm not really the type who indulges in giving them their own art pieces or using them all that much.
Is it better to just have them hanging around, pretend they never existed, or do the stereotypical 'hey who wants to buy random dog 17'?
I just never quite enjoyed the idea of 'selling characters', because it makes little sense to me. But.. really, I've obviously been proven wrong there many times on this and similar sites when it comes to that.

I'd say just keep them if you are not into selling them. who knows, maybe you'll want to bring them back later for a pic.

I'd say keep them hanging around even if you seldom or never use them. There's no point in pretending they never existed because you can always keep the idea of them just in case you want them. And there's no point in selling them because the creativity of the furry fandom won't be lacking if you keep the characters for yourself. Anyone who would otherwise buy your characters will invent their own characters or buy someone else's idea.
