Oh no, your poor boat. Luckily this didn't cause a bad accident, glad you are alright. Let's hope the next weeks will bring better luck for you. :)
Yeah, hoping this week whooshes past so I can get play with the new one. Plus I still gotta book a couple days to try and visit Dad (take II).
Also I'm sorry that your kayak broke.
Yeah, that was not a good day, but... lessons learned, gratitude realized for no one hurt, and in the end, al is well. :)
So relieved to hear that your kayak accident ended on the driveway and not the HWY 401....even if it meant the loss of your boat. Boats are replaceable, dragon-muts, not so much.
That new one looks great! Have you customized it with a paw-print yet? And will you be able to glass-up the old kayak with fibre glass patches? Ugly as hell and she wouldn't handle the same, but would be a good beater.
Yes, very relieved no one was hurt too - gods, could you imagine the potential carnage of that happening on the 401!?
Heh, and no I haven't customized the new one like that yet. I have to get another TC footpaw print from Iggi, but I need smaller ones. The new boat actually has a textured surface over most of the deck, so I can't apply it there, just a couple small places near the side of the cockpit. I do definitely want to get them though. :) I've really been enjoying the new boat - it's quite different in most senses, but so fun.
I'm really sorry about your kayak; I'm glad you were able to get in one last good memory with it though, at the very least. And I'm glad nobody was hurt - that's definitely a plus.
My favorite for this post is CariFoxleopard's feature; it's just so cute!
In the time since, I have contacted several boat repair shops to see if there is any point to trying to rebuild the hull, and all have said no - thermoform hulls can't be fixed easily with that much damage. I'm not surprised at the answer - but I thought I would ask just in case. It will need to be cut up and recycled.
On the upside, the boat I replaced it with has been amazing. Very different style of boat in most measurable ways, but one that is perhaps a better fit for the bulk of my usage style. It's also more fun - I can e-mail ya more details about it if you're interested. :)
And YES! Great pick. Cari can really put a lot of light-hearted emotion into her work, and that particular one really shows it off nicely.
