For some background context, I've been trying to work out an issue that arose with a certain Discord group for Sharks.

Someone brought up an issue I was having with another artist, whom they were friends with, and ended up badmouthing me and stirring the pot and getting me removed from that Discord, without anyone coming to speak to me on the matter, and by the time I was removed from that Discord chat, I had already resolved the issue with that artist in PM's.

That's the first thing that bothered me, it wasn't anyone else's business, even that friend's, but it was brought up and thrown out of proportion when it was only ever between me and that artist in PM's, there was no public facet to the issue, the only way to know about it would be to talk to me or the artist involved.

So, after discovering a couple weeks later (I'd been very busy with work and getting a house) that hey, that Shark chat isn't on my Discord list anymore, weird, I got a friend of mine to link me an invite back to it, figuring it was a glitch or something, which has happened before. Then I did a search on myself and found what'd really happened, as well as some rather unwarranted, extremely insulting things spoken about me by people who don't even know me. I was rather alarmed and upset, but I remained calm and started trying to PM the person who'd removed me, the chat owner, and another moderator about it to try to resolve things and set the record straight.

Well, the 'other moderator', who's always been a nice guy, got back to me fast and was also confused about the fact I was never contacted, but had no power over what those two did as they are a couple and the owners of the chat and suggested I just speak to them about it to clear the air, which I was already in the process of so I thanked him for listening and getting back to me.

Now, today, one week later. I still have not one word of response from either of them, and noticed that I am still in the Shark chat, but a rank was assigned to me that blocks me seeing any of the chat channels or being able to chat in them. Again, rather upset and confused as to why THIS is the reaction to my approaching them about this issue, and when I went to PM the chat owner about this new development, I've been blocked in PM's as well by them.

This is just....do you lack even basic common courtesy, common decency?! What the hell is wrong with you both?? I was wrongly attacked, wrongly punished, wrongly insulted and badmouthed, and all I did was calmly bring the issue up with those involved to try to set the record straight and bury the hatchet so we could move on, as I enjoyed just being in the chat to hang out and have fun, I've made a couple friends from being in there that I'll remain in contact with despite all this bullshit, but to not even have the decency to reply, and then on top of that block and mute me???

You're pathetic, and you can keep your chat, I don't want to be in it anymore. You're what's wrong with this community, and I won't let bad eggs like you ruin the rest of it for me. You're both unfollowed, and I at least have the common courtesy to not publically name you, though I have no doubt others who are in that chat and see this will know exactly who you are and how you've treated someone who was only ever kind to you and others in that chat.

Edit:: Thank you so much to the two sharks who reached out to me shortly after posting this and inviting me to a far kinder Shark discord. The gesture of kindness, and understanding what and who I was talking about and understanding fully, was deeply appreciated and I can't thank you enough. At the same moment when I'm upset about the way people sometimes act online, I received a reminder that there are still so many wonderful people out there too, and they far outweigh the bad ones.
