I think all your art styles are still true to your main style.
You have this cool chibi style too around there somewhere. Just use it too! :3 Telegram stickers? I think so~
I'm sorry. I personally can't pick between them. I love everything you do. X3 And for flaws? Uh. Practice camera angles? Try some crazy perspective stuff. :D
thank you for your input :)
I guess the biggest difference between my style and yours is that all the pieces I have uploaded now, they are all "drawn" by adjusting lines and anchors on line or path files. That generally makes for very clean lines, but it can be extremely time consuming and slow. I haven't measured how long it takes me to draw things, but it takes far too many hours for it to be economical. :-P It also doesn't help that I have a mild perfectionist streak in me and an obsession with making things anatomically correct that I'm constantly editing and tweaking things. However, I think as I get more familiar and comfortable with anatomy, I think I'll be able to make things significantly faster.
If anything, lighting and shading are generally in my mind the biggest thing that makes decent art into amazing art, though granted, it's significantly more work. I also love texturing and blending colors (something that's a bit more difficult for me to do in SAI than in GIMP, oddly).
But, to be honest, finding your style I think is the fight that all artists have to go through, as that is what makes all of us unique. I think you should always try to see and focus on what you like. Or draw something for yourself and just keep on drawing, editing, tweaking, adjusting it until it is as close to how you imagined it.
I probably set the bar for myself a bit too high, but I know that if I don't push myself to improve, well, I'm not going to improve. So don't be afraid to test out new things!
ad yeah i haaate shading things... and i always find my shading looks too dramatic wothout being nicely balanced and dynamic .
i kno wwhat artists are like my goal ? but i dont want ot be a printer of sorts XD . and yeah i ooove how textures look, but i can never get anything im happy with yet. but i will play around with it more :)
Also, I just bought a drawing tablet, and I am testing it out today for the first time, so i'm right now trying to reprogram my brain to use it. It's unfortunately kinda small, so I guess I will have to zoom in a bit more when drawing. It also doesn't help that my computer screen is wider than most, so things are stretched out left to right. But, I think if I work with it, it will eventually click and it might help out with my drawing speed and efficiency.
When I shade, I'm generally just making areas slightly darker with a very faint black airbrush, 10% or less opacity (or density with SAI) on a separate layer on top of the image. Sometimes it works out, sometimes not. I still need more practice with it.
The only texture I have figured out that works reliably for me is for manes and tails, which is similar to how I shade using faint whites and blacks, but I used one of GIMP's wide spaced bristle brushes, the bristles in SAI are too close together for it to have the same effect. However, I'm pretty sure there's a way to make custom brushes in SAI, or at least I hope there is!
i have a small tablet too :) you dont need a Cintiq to make good art . i have an intuose pro , wich is a pretty small tablet .
its suuper weird to draw with atablet at first but once yo uget the hang of it , it makes thngs soooo much easier.
But yeah, the tablet feels so odd right now, but I think it's staring to click a bit! I can now draw an outline that you can tell it is supposed to be a horse. :-P
What brush thickness and stabilizer do you use when you are making outlines?
I'm right now using the linework layer for the outlines, as it's the most similar to how I used to draw the outlines with the GIMP path tool as it makes points on the line/stroke that I can adjust. The pen tool basically draws exactly like the pencil, though I guess it makes more adjustments as it tries to connect the dots as you draw. I used the linework layers to draw this, https://www.furaffinity.net/view/24449023/ though granted, I was using the mouse and curve tool, rather than the pen.
