(this is technically more a rant because im pretty mad but whatever)
Alright, when it comes to the adoptables I sell, I'd like to think I don't ask for much. In terms of money or the TOS.
I just require that you all DO NOT sell for more than you paid ME for the adopt.
NO YOU CAN NOT AUCTION ADOPTS YOU BOUGHT FROM ME. YOU CAN NOT CHARGE MORE THAN YOU PAID!! I DON'T CARE HOW MUCH A PERSON OFFERS
YOU MAY ONLY RESALE FOR MORE IF THE ADOPT HAS EXTRA ART.
Because one, it's not fair to me. I'M the one whose coming up with the designs and working hours just to be able to sell to you all and I'm the one making less money than the people just being a middle man pretty much? hmmm
And two! It's really not fair to the people who really just want a adopt from me! It's extremely unfair to take a adopt if you're just going to use it for profit for yourself. Like I REALLY hope you enjoy that money too! Because you're officially getting fucking BLOCKED if I see you doing this shit!
Like damn I aint asking for much here!! I'd like to think I'm not!
Adoptables are starting to be more trouble than it's worth at this point! No matter how fair I try to make it. I honestly REALLY like designing characters its fun and almost therapeutic for me. But when I start to post I get nervous to be honest because I'm like "oh no I wonder whose going to be mad" or something like that. Raffles were a mess to deal with personally and doing first come first serve always ended up like that lmao
Like its definitely fine to resale adopts, I don't mind when it comes to that if you're being honest about how much you paid.
Heck, I WANT you guys to resale if you aren't feeling the adopt anymore! And give someone else a chance with the character!
But doing stuff like this, purposely buying just to sell for more than you paid gotta stop.
SO! I'm just going to stop adopt batches for awhile :)
I'll do character auctions every now and then but besides that nah I'm good lol
I got other things I want to do like shleep

EDIT AGAIN; HEY UH GUYS it is not okay to harass people on my behalf? I didn't think I'd have to say that BUT HERE I AM. Please just if this happens in the future and you see it just notify me about the person and I'll deal with it. This was a PSA to past and future people who have done this to me & people who support me. And I am NOT taking the journal down because I want people to know this.
But please even if you think you know who it is they don't deserve that kind of treatment.

We had similar stuff going on with the Plunnies so we've more or less stopped.
People can really suck. I hope that you can keep making designs though, even if just for the therapy of it all.

I don't blame you for stepping away from adopts. I always adore seeing them, but I wouldn't wanna deal with the stress either.
I hoped so much to one day get an adopt from you but man they go so quick and now it may not happen.
I hope things get better for you and that you can live without that stress and headache.

YES that post did kind of prompt this journal but like stated in the journal it was really just accumulated emotions of this CONSTANTLY happening to me from different people over YEARS. This can't be traced to a singular person because this has been happening since forever.
But you feel the need to bring her up making people think this journal is a about her when it's not. And now she is getting hit hard over it.
I also didn't say her name. If she feels guilty about it, that's her problem ???
Maybe your friend needs to fix how she's doing things and follow the rules of character sales and not sell characters she gets for free.

I get she's your friend, but she's fucked up bad. The backlash is because this isn't acceptable shit to do. She brought allllll this on herself. If you were a real friend, you'd be trying to help her right it and make things right instead of defending scamming behavior.

If someone sees something as it's written and not whats behind the scene kept in private then its no fault of those who don't know.
For the price of the adopt with extra art would you just like to see the price we payed plus the price of the commissioned art? What if its art we have done our selves of the character?

Like I get that "name brand" and accumulative value as the character grows...
More art, exposure, etc...
Thus the value goes up...
But to grab and turn around and resell at mark-up is shitty...
Like I get the real world way of doing this with collectibles, like comics, figurines, etc...
But on this one, it doesn't quite fit with an artificial based setup and there us no real "aging", preserving, etc...

Because its an abuse of someone else's skills without their consent/okay.
If an artist openly states that's fine? Then fine, go for it...
But if they haven't? Always assume no unless you ask for the okay...

I honestly hate when I see someone buying a character and turning around to resell it like... up to 2 weeks later.
Like WTF, why did you even buy it then?
You haven't even had it long enough to enjoy, let alone connect with.
If you aren't connected enough to invest in it, don't fricken buy it. x3x
Not that its wrong or bad but a handful of them are well known for bartering or trading things off. I remember trying to trade one of them for an old succubus adopt I'd die for but they "Didn't want to let it go for that low" even though it had no extra art and I had offered more than the original price + art ACK!!!
I'm sorry making adoptables stresses you out it's the best choice to take a break from them-- and your auctions always NYOOOOMMM so I feel like that's also an amazing idea if doing them is therapeutic. ♥
I fully support your choice and I'm sorry bad apples ruined it for everyone else-- I hope you continue to keep using art as an outlet because your work is so beautiful and pure just like you ♥♥♥♥ ( ˙꒳˙ )
