Well... here it goes.
So I just bought a bunch of art supplies. A beginner's sketching kit, pads, boards, books...
I'm going to try it. I'm going to be arting it up. To be honest, this is something I just always assumed I never could do. Grade school teachers were never able to get much out of me, although I always liked colouring maps of the United States with prismacolors. My mom hung the Christmas ornaments on the tree every year, but really, that's part of being a mom. They HAVE to put up with their kids' crappy art and think it's wonderful. But
falconmccooper really thinks I should try it out, so BLAME HIM.
I've never had any formal training, not gone through so much as a beginner's art class, although I did take several art appreciation courses in college. But I'm surrounded on a daily basis by artists at work and furry folk at night, so there interest is certainly rubbing off on me. Now, I'm a guy who has trouble with straight lines. Circles. Pretty much anything involving a pencil. So this is going to take a long time. It might even be years before I can draw anything that I'd consider worth posting here. Or I might post a picture of a box today and cry if it doesn't get 50 favourites by nightfall.
I'm not sure where I'm going to come up with the time to do all this! My schedule is pretty busy as it is. Likely the time spend flying circles and doing dailies in World of Warcraft will get cut way down.
*deep breath* Here goes...

I want to walk down that road myself, but I haven't been able to convince myself I have the time. But I have some books on drawing and some supplies and the like. Just need to buckle down and do it.
I look forward to seeing what you can do, when you feel confident enough to share. ^_^
It's possible for anyone, I think. Sure, it takes a preeeetty long while for a noticeable improvement, but hey, if an idiot like me can do it, you can too. *Chuckle*
If you're still at it, that is. It's been half a year now since you put this up, eh?
Take a look at my most recent submission. It might give you a small boost of motivation. I can only hope. <3
Unless you're this guy! Or you do this.
Where went? :O
