honestly furaffinity and its code of conduct is broken. i've seen a particular user (i'm not going to name them) who was suspended for saying 'fuck nazis.'
apparently this is seen as 'hate speech' even though the group itself is a massive terrorist organization that is a literal hate group.
people have used the defense 'you can't fight fire with fire!' or more commonly have continuously used Martin Luther King Jr. as an example to convey that fighting against a hate group violently is bad --
however unlike popular belief Martin Luther King Jr was not against conflict.
here's a good link of an article by an african american women (and not some white cis male furry) who does a great job proving that fact.
honestly it's a bit jarring to be talking about this on a furry website but it's even more so to see that some furries are literal nazis. so in the spirit of this journal im going to lay down some ground rules

I mean, I could also be dead wrong with that assumption too... it just made the most sense after reading what you posted.
Anywho, that's rough if they knew what the user meant... I get that they have to uphold the peace, having been on the moderation side of websites before where I agreed with the antagonist, but their actions were causing a fight because they got too emotional or felt their political stance was more important than picking fights. And of course, moderators HAVE to remain neutral on stuff like that and diffuse the problem. So it's why I simply avoid political discussions unless it's with a small group who I know probably agrees with me so that we can discuss it objectively without issue.
Because yes, if a group of people feels so invalidated, oppressed and all-around bullied to the point where they rally together in protest and push back, then maybe we should look into why so many people decided to do that. It is horrible they have to resort to riots and stuff. I'm sure they too don't actually want to hurt anyone, but when pushed to their limits they genuinely feel they have absolutely no choice.
Thankfully, my city wasn't pushed to that point. There had been some racism with our police a few years back. After moderate protesting, the city looked into it and it has caused changes. IDK to what extent, but the protesters seem appeased.
Anyway, I'm sure I'm rambling at this point... I'm curious as to what all happened leading up to his banishment. I feel like there HAS to be more... because if not, then yeah I totally agree with you. FA always seemed cool with swearing so that can't possibly be it.
And as for whoever he said "fuck nazis" to, did they get any discipline too?

apparently this is seen as 'hate speech' even though the group itself is a massive terrorist organization that is a literal hate group. as was recently declared by the United States department of justice, and confirmed by the FBI.

Not only that, with the new Code of Conduct changes, all of the various hate groups, such as nazis, are indeed banned, and prevented from doing things on site (and fairly enough). Antifa though, even though it has caused hundreds of thousands of dollars of damages to public and private property in the 'States alone, and caused countless hospitalisations of people who are NOT associated with any hate groups at all. It isn't banned or prevented from doing anything. Even though they are a terrorist group, and are a hate group.
Yeah, the 'targeting' of antifa is very very off, it isn't really attacking fascist regimes, so much as causing violence against anyone that they dislike. Most likely that level of violence and destruction is a part of the reason for the domestic terrorist organisation classification.
I would prefer all authoritarian regimes that are attempting to force others to comply through violence, bullying and attacking individuals personally (such as attacking their place of work to try and get them fired) to stop doing that.
One of the best sterilisers for a horrible thought process is to be talked about openly. Shine a light on the ideals and the thoughts. Dismantle it, and take it apart, prove how it is bad. That destroys it. Otherwise, preventing conversation and thought just pushes it underground, where there is no-one to fight against it through logic and reason.
Does that make sense to you at all?
Basically anyone right of Carl Marx is a "nazi" at this rate. That being said, count your lucky stars that Antifa is so 'liked' by staff right now, despite all the cruel shit the overall group has done.
I completely agree with your views on antifa right now. right now there are SO many antifa furs who just use "I'm in antifa" as an excuse to throw hatred around on people who dont deserve it. I think the group is just called "antifa" so they can just get away with destroying people's property and rioting/looting and harming people. so it looks like they're against something everyone can collectively agree on that they dislike.
