I'll admit, a Marvel comics theme would be interesting to me because my pal has been introducing me to a ton of its heroes through movies and Netflix series XD I feel like a general superhero would cover the best of both worlds, as generic as it may sound.

Either way, even though I already suggested the Criminals theme, there's one other I think would be a valid candidate, and that would be Outer Space/Interstellar travel. It's a broad term that would cover quite a lot of ground as there are a lot of fun fantasy realms inspired by the deepness of space. Someone could choose to play a famous intrepid explorers of the cosmos, or one of the many alien races we've dreamed up over the years. Of course, this theme could be too broad, but I'm just throwing it out there.

If it isn't too high a concept, I think an Early Days of Furry theme could be rather fun. There's a lot of stuff furries never really thought to stop doing, they just moved on from, and celebrating that could be neat.

(Admittedly, in the early days of furry, it was *so* hard to find, like, artwork of people who liquefied or anything fun like that.)

I think I get what you're talking about, but could you elaborate on some examples, perhaps? Maybe I just wasn't tuned in to the fandom enough back then, but I'm not quite coming up with what exactly you're referring to. You definitely have my interest though!

I guess the biggest bygone thing is furry mucks, really. There's still plenty of role-play and casual hangouts, although I think the mixture of persistent rooms and in-game programming structure people's play in ways that aren't quite there anymore. IRC's faded out too, but I think that's more closely matched by stuff like Telegram or Twitter chat sessions.

It seems to me --- and this might just reflect the furry events I get to, so maybe I'm way off base --- that furry does less than it used to with, like, puppeteering and sketch acting and that sort of performance. Some of that's on-stage, some of that is walking around the event in unstructured spaces.

I think there's also been a loss of the tape-trading culture, although given that it's now possible to actually find obscure stuff you wanted to see, the tradeoff is worth it. But we were having fun, back then, in our way, and it could be nice to share talk about why that was fun with people who don't have to go through that nonsense.

I actually like that idea. I'm not sure how to have people select "costumes" that would get the idea across, but maybe a general "Retro Furry" concept would be a suggestion to get the ball rolling.
