You can't subject a philosophical concept to science, the idea is too abstract to be actually experimented with. People who claim it's real it's because they believe so, people who claim there have been cases, it's because they have heard rumors strong enough to give them a reason. But there's no hard evidence to prove it and the idea is too abstract to be disproven.
