An important note for those who want to give blood: the American red Cross is finnicky on accepting blood from the LGBT+ community. If you are certain you don't have bloodborne pathogens, just don't mention that you're gay/bi/lesbian/ect as part of your demographics.

It goes without saying that if you've never had bloodwork for pathogens done, your money is more valuable than your blood because spreading illness to survivors is not helping!

They have those processes and controls in place for a reason. It is entirely possible to be a carrier for a bloodborne pathogen that does not harm you, but still transmissible. Not disclosing said activities could put persons at risk for permanent, life-altering diseases. Even if you show no symptoms you can still be an active carrier.

I can't believe he would say that is alright to that. How can you be pro gun control and then in the same breath advocate a criminally negligent behavior and bypass health controls?

I don't know RunawayDanish well enough to judge his political stances. I just want people to be aware of what they can do to help. I think there's a better place to question him on this stuff.

I grant you that you have a point. But, the way you chose to express your point was decidedly confrontational and largely directed towards someone other than who you were replying to, hence my confusion and defensiveness. If you were merely being informative, then I wouldn't have cared. There's a time and place for trying to make an argument and this tiny corner of the internet where only I will really bother reading isn't it. As such, please don't continue this chain further as you've more than made your point by now.
