I'm not sure if I talked about it much this year, but I've been selling baked goods at the local farmers market again this summer. The final day is this thursday! I figured it'd be good to give a heads up, since after that I'll be returning to my normal art work week. On the plus side, I was able to buy a whole set of new copics with the extra income and I've started saving for a new drawing tablet. The one I have right now is a Cintiq 12wx, which I bought in 2012 and has served me well. But, it's not HD and the colors are unfortunately a bit dim (that's just the way the 12wx's are, nothing wrong with the actual tablet) so I think it's time to upgrade.
I'll also be attending Aquatifur in less than two weeks! Its a new con in Wisconsin Dells and I'm looking forward to it. I hope to do lots of waterpark things XD Anyway, I'll be making another journal in a day or two about preordering badges for that if any of you are interested.
For now I'm going to work on getting out as many commissions as I can before the convention. Goodbye sleep! Hello art! I hope XD How have you guys all been?

I love baking and cooking in general, especially bread. Making bread is definitely time consuming, but nothing beats the smell. Nothing.
How do you rate Copics? I've been using markers, and I keep hearing and reading about how amazing they are, though I've never had the chance to test one out yet. I'm guessing the price tag is worth it.
And as for how I've been; I'm surviving. Looking for another part time job over the Christmas period. Extra cash during this time of year is always welcome.
And I like Copics a lot. I used prismacolors for years and just upgraded to copics this year. Both are good especially now that prismacolors come with a brush end, which I'd say is a must. The thing about copics is they blend a bit better in my experience, and the ink and nibs are refillable/replaceable and very cheap. So with prismacolors you have to buy a whole new pen, where-as with copics once you get them you have them for life. A plus for prismacolors is they are cheaper upfront, though over the long term copics will end up being cheaper overall.
Oh yeah, and I totally know what you mean with the extra cash. That's what's so nice about this summer gig, I'm my own boss and I get some extra cash flow for upgrading my "real job" and also doing fun things during the summer. :3 I hope you're able to find a good seasonal job though! Also you should be getting a note from me soon :D
