Just thought I'd let you all know how things have been so far since the move.

The simple answer is: Just fine. I'm luckily located in a Detroit suburb that avoids the majority of the criminal insanity Detroit is known for recently, so I have little concern about the people in my immediate vicinity, and I've settled into the new job very well.

Separation from  xeroprime has of course sucked a fair bit, but I'm managing it better than I expected - it helps that we still talk regularly on IM, and having made friends with a few co-workers has helped alleviate any feelings of isolation. I've also met a few old friends of my late grandparents who have been very helpful in helping me settle in and learn the area.

Put simply, things are going about as well as one could hope for. Only one thing could make it better, and circumstances still don't look likely to make it possible.

But it's very fair to say... I'm probably gonna be okay out here.
