Well, finally some good news. Apparently the mass in her back is just enlarged blood vessels that have been there for some time and it sounds like she just has to deal with the hip surgery. Normally they attach the rod and run it down the femur for support. Unfortunately, she already had a rod there from a previous fall, so now they have to attach a plate to the outside of the hip and screw it in place. She's gonna have a long road to recovery, but I know she can handle it.
