Adult art.

General
I've pondered venturing into it (and have already, just haven't posted anything).
How do people here feel about seeing such things? I was thinking about just putting it under an alt or just posting it here in the mix. In my mind the line between adult/non-adult is only as distinct as arbitrary rules make it out to be.

FA+

I'd like to see it, for what that's worth.
If you go with an alt account, it’s just one more to me to watch. Seems that would be more of a hassle for you to manage a second account.
go right ahead
If you plan some professional work in classical way career, that must not take place in the books, then it's more for fun than pro part.
As a watcher, It's a bit the same except it's sometimes really fun to watch, but following certain artists who switched to practically to only adult, I would say it's a pity.
I don't like only adult 50/50 is, in my opinion, fine. :3
*Cheers and chirp*
Ultimately, I appreciate your decision either way!
Personally, I'm interested to see how your style would translate into that genre. Give it a whirl, and hey, if it doesn't sit well there's no shame in going back. Life's about did's, not didn'ts :)
I kinda like the segregation because the SFW button is too general: some folks' NSFW is within my comfort zone, some folks' isn't. If I could set adult/mature/safe ratings on artists individually, I would love that.
But it's your account, and I'm unlikely to unwatch unless things go much weirder than most NSFW stuff on FA.
...and if it's sexy fennecs it's a BIG FAT PLUS <3
Have fun! :D
Go do what you enjoy :D
I personally have put up a little bit here, but primarily keep it under an alt account (which doesn't even link back to me anyway, haha), so keep in mind possible future work en devours if you think it may interfere with getting work in future and if so, posting it under another name may be optimal.
I really, really, REALLY wish FA and other sites had sub-domains specific for adult art. I left FA a couple years ago and literally only came back because I need new customers and they're all still stuck here, but I hate that FA is little more than a porn/fetish site.
I got into "furry" art because I fell in love with anthropomorphic characters and stories, and some of the art on that topic is absolutely mind-blowing. I love the world-building aspect of so many designs and paintings.
So to see one amazing fantasy piece and a sheep taking an anatomically correct dog dick in the next one is...disappointing, to say the least. I'm not a "burned furs" purist, I'm not "against" porn drawings or porn itself, or even anthro porn. I just lament that this is such an incredible, diverse, talented, and inspiring fandom that I'm a part of, that I WISH I could share with friends and family as openly as I do other hobbies and things I enjoy, but I typically need to keep it in the closet since the art-art side and the porn-drawings side are all lumped together.
I wish FA and other sites would do something where, once you make an account, there's also an adult.furaffinity.com/yourname account made, too, and its your choice to activate it (or vice versa if you're only a porn artist). It'd be cool if when you submit pieces you choose which domains to send the work to, that way the adult site is an entirely different experience and doesn't rely on people tagging their works properly and keeps the "questionable" category away from the world-building and character design art.
Same for Twitter. I discover new, amazing artists all the time but can't follow them since most of their submissions are NSFW, and I like to browse my twitter on the phone while riding the bus or out to lunch or whatever.
So, TLDR I wish people would separate their accounts so fans can enjoy whatever they're into better. It has nothing to do with being "against" porn, but everything to do about the public face of things and sharing content and sites on a broader scale. Like how cool would it be if I could share your art direct to Facebook because I thought it looked cool and my friends might enjoy without them making a few clicks more and ending up on something overly graphic?
In the end, though, you do you. :)
I was uncomfortable with doing anything kink or fanart related on this account but I felt no pressure at all the second I made a secondary alias.
If you're in a place where you can black list things and maturity settings-- I say go for it. If not just create a secondary alias. But I've also seen people make secondary aliases with little to nothing to fill it up with and end up just dumping it on their regular account anyways.
So I guess it takes some trial and error to get to what feels right to you.
I say "secret" alt account is the way to go :D the fandom loves a mystery you know! :D
(honestly, While I'd love to see it, don't tell people it's you for a while, it's more fun that way!)
I'd imagine the responses change from "It's good because of the lighting combined with the particle effects" to "He's an amazing artist, because of that hawt doggie dick. Plus the other stuff."
That being said, I'd like to see adult stuff. But keep in mind unless it's just tasteful nudes or something, people will be coming explicitly for the porn first, art second.
tl;dr --- Make an alternate account for anything pornographic or particularly lewd in nature. But tasteful nudes can probably stay on your main profile.
