You compare socialized medicine to that? As if America would ever have a truly socialized healthcare system like most of the civilized world?

Sorry blacky, but that kinda insulted the entire health systems of many European countries where people actually get support and help from the governments they pay taxes for.

It holds true to the "Hallway Medicine" of Canada, and the mandatory 8-month-long wait for patients requiring a CT Scan --- by the time I would have gotten the CT prescribed by my doctor (for my first kidney stone), I would have already passed it 7 months and 3 1/2 weeks earlier.

I take offense to this as a canadian.

A life threatening issue is given top priority for CT or MRI units and your bumped up on the list beyond everyone else. Depending on the severity of the kindey stones your rationed accordingly. Though most times an X-Ray is more than sufficient to diagnose a kidney stone and every clinic has one that you can get within that day..

And its actually for an MRI or non emergency diagnostic scan about 2-3 weeks (and they run those units almost 24/7 so people get 1 or 2 am appointments XD). Its actually surgery that seems to be the longest wait time rather than the diagnostic tests with electives running insanely long.

But well like eveyrone else says either you die because you cant pay or you go bankrupt or you die because the procedure takes to long. Either way you die...
