Taking New Commissions Soon

It seems that due to circumstances beyond my control, I will start taking on new commissions very soon.
This is something I really didn’t expect to be doing. I’d always wanted to avoid taking on new commissions until I clear my old backlog. I have been working on that recently, I am making progress on that front and I remain committed to finishing them all eventually. These new commissions will be something I’ll have to work on alongside the old.
The fact is, money is short and might be getting shorter in a few months. This is due to a big dispute between my employer and my union that looks unlikely to be resolved any time soon and is very likely going to result in strike action in December. It looks like I’m going to be losing money I can’t afford to lose.
My options for making extra money are limited. And so, after giving it much thought, I have decided to begin accepting new commissions, to try and build up some spare money to help me through that period if it comes.
But I am going to learn from past mistakes by not biting off more than I can chew. Right now, I’m planning to only take on three pics at a time and definitely no commission comics. I’m still figuring out what the prices will be.
It could be as early as tomorrow that I open for these new commissions. I’ll be post a journal here when I do, and slots will probably be filled on a first come, first served basis. I’m just hoping there will be at least some people out there that are interested.

There will always be people willing to throw money at you to get some art. Don't worry about that. As long as there's a person willing to pay to get their vision turned into a reality, then you have some cash flow coming in. I might be interested as well but would like to see your prices first
