I think if you like nsfw art of your character but you would like to tone down on it, then start getting both nsfw and sfw art, that way you aren’t only placing your char in sexual enckubters and you could explore them more as a character.

I understand c: I have been commissioning a bit of SFW art over the past couple of months that I haven't placed up yet. I like the idea of trying to explore your character in person, I haven't really done it before ^^;

You should start posting those pieces! I would love to see them~ And you should definetly figure out your character more ind depth, you never know what you might come up with for them!

It's your character, it is up to you to decide. I do not see anything wrong with either nsfw or swf art.

I think a general shift towards SFW art is a likely sign you are getting more comfortable with yourself. SFW arts allows you to flesh out your character as a character and what they would do in certain situations, instead of focusing on a small sliver of their personality.

I would suspect there are plenty of people who have and will mellow out from a largely NSFW account into a largely SFW one.

That said, I don't think it's necessarily wise to put a constraint such as "I will never have another NSFW piece of art again!." That might limit you later down the road if you feel you need to express something about yourself through your character. One of the great things about furry art (as far as it goes) is that it lets you be somebody not yourself and explore things you might like or be into.

TL;DR: I think that type of shift is 100% natural. I certainly would not stop watching a character I enjoy just because they move to SFW pieces.

As for your other questions: my own main character has also gone from a largely experimental, figure-out-my-sexuality-and-kinks NSFW character into a mostly SFW character. I will still get the occasional NSFW art, but those are more likely to be very particular commissions with my boyfriend or other friends. My other main character (Milo) I will only allow 'mature' art of at best; I have no intention of him ever having a NSFW piece, though I do think he's a total tease and pushing the boundary is without crossing the line is fun.

As time goes by, my appreciation for SFW art only increases. I expect this is true for most.

I'm glad you found your choice and got mostly SFW art, While I have started off as mostly a NSFW furry coming into the fandom with no friends too kinda help me figure things out at the start, I am meeting friends and discovering what I like and what I don't, finding out little bits of my personality along the way. c:

I do have other characters as well, but I feel that Tenma is the special one to me and I'm happy to have him represent me as my fursona. I'm not really looking of this as a hard cut away from NSFW art and never looking back, but as he represents me I want to get art about the other things about me, not just the naughty things. ^^ I want to get art with friends that isn't really about sex and being naughty, but I feel like it seems to be the norm in the community. I guess I'm getting more comfortable as a furry but not really as a very naughty one. ^^;

I personally prefer SFW, but sometimes it's hard to find SFW YCHs and such that I want my mature characters in (like not cutesy, chibi type YCHS).
But I feel like I inevitably make my chars NSFW anyway, 'cause I think of some kind of pose or outfit I want them in.
I don't have any problem with characters being SFW only! I wish I could be strong like that now. NSFW just tends to get more attention, which works better if I'm looking for customers. ><

It's kinda the NSFW art that is the more popular variety, and I have nothing against it cx but SFW kinda gets smaller notice when most people look at the NSFW art and notice it more and want it of their character and artists realize the demand.

I don't have any problem with people choosing which art they would like of their character. full SFW, full NSFW or anywhere in between is the place they decide to be cx I just kinda want to tip the scales of the type of artwork of my character and show more of what me or Tenma are into in a non-naughty way

Heheh he has had the innocence to try a lot of different things and think 'what could that be like?' in the naughty art he has gotten xD I think more art of his actual innocence is what I would like to get for the foreseeable future. I agree that art is definitely a discussion to have in a relationship especially figuring out how your partner feels about it. ^^

I'd say if you want to go for it being SFW, then go for it. One thing you'll have to deal with is how your audience handles the change. I know it's a bit different for me since I'm an artist, but ever since I switched over to doing strictly SFW content, unless I decide to have a fun piece for the community that just so happens to be NSFW, I've noticed that people had to take some time to get used to it. Had to even remind some friends since they'd normally expect that.

However if some people leave because you're doing a switch-up, then that's on them. Can't please everyone, so the best you can do is to just keep it moving.

Since writing this journal last year I have been keeping to SFW artworks and I have been enjoying it ^^

Overtime I grew to realise that while I like looking at NSFW stuff from time to time, it wasn't something I really wanted to portray and it isn't a massive part of me. I simply enjoy being with friends and playing games and chatting. Having art represent that about me does more than NSFW art ever can.

I do not think it's strange for a character to have a large amount of NSFW pictures. I really enjoy smut, I have several pics of my sona doing the naughty, but I also have a alot of SFW picures, for me, I like to balance it out abit.


But it's really up to you, if you don't feel comfortable doing nsfw of your character anymore then go for it.


But I will say that you are a total cutie and you got that booty forever

Mmm I don't think of it as strange for a character to have a lot of NSFW pictures, but I have been focusing on it a lot and I really want to get some more SFW pictures and think about having a bit of a story of some pictures as well c:

A healthy mix of both? And the nsfw doesn't have to be hardcore, could be artistic/Softcore Etc ^^
