Hawaii

Well, Many live here and we can call it paradise. people from other parts of the globe sometimes see it as perfect and a great place to go. As most can agree, it isn't what you see in TV. I just was thinking ever since the time I went to Washington...there was an commercial where you could win some trip here. I laughed at how they portrayed Hawaii as a massive luxary island. hell some people still believe we live in shacks and surf all day. darn it thats not true, we live everyday lives like everyone else in the world. we have our groups, our emos our wannabes, the dramas. now don't get me wrong, Hawaii's a great place to visit because people are nice and hold doors open. Yes, We do surf and the beaches here are fine. Hawaii is a laid back place full of many people of certain interests. not much people here are rude, while there are some. Also, most live japanese style, by taking off your shoes while upon entering one's house. another thing, we call flip flops...Slippers. I dunno it personally annoys me when i hear flip flops...Guess it's cause i was raised here.
Are there any things you would want to know about Hawaii? I CANNOT answer certain question like how to speak hawaiian or what does this mean in hawaiian...I'm hazy with my language.

FA+

And my bf loves visiting here, he said that everyone here is so nice compared to the mainland. He wants to live here eventually.
I think he once got culture-shock when we were going through the checkout at Foodland, and I said, "Thanks auntie" to the woman behind the counter. I had to explain to him about it being a term of respect/endearment and stuff.
Oh oh, about the shacks on the beach thing. Funny story. My friend Pua was on the mainland for college, and someone saw her driver's license, so they asked her something like, do we really have cars here, or something. She was like, "this is a canoe license, we get to places with our canoes" and they were like, "REALLY!? COOL O_O" and she laughed and had to explain yes, we have roads and cars like everyone else.
My Mate wants to come here because of it lax style and atmosphere. Can't argue.
haha, Yeah didn't even know that calling others you didn't know auntie or uncle for respective terms. My friend who came from germany was all like "wow, you must have relatives everywhere!" XD
OMG thats hilarious...Its funny to have other people become confused and believe little lies about Hawaii like how we all live on the beach, which i told a girl and she believed me as i heard her talking to her friends later that she would LOVE to live in hawaii. As much as i love nature...I'm a city person...I was born on Oahu, lived on molokai, then when my grandpa died, we went to maui and I spend my childhood life on the Big island, where many personal troubles began and this and that happend and I now live with my Step mom and dad.
Of course, I cheat. I graduated from an Immersion school. xD
As a kid I actually understood hawaiian..but now...I'm hazy with it.
I only some japanese.
You're on the big island right now, right?
no...I'm opn the Oahu right now.
Also, one day, have a guava fight with over-ripe guavas that have fallen from the tree. It's so fun. We did it in Hana when swimming in some natural pools/river. Guava everywhere. It was great. XD
I'm hungry for some now...
