[ART TECH] Corel Painter

So it turns out, FireAlpaca is terrible. It wasn't the tablet, the program just has strange pressure levels that are incompatible with my super-light, sensitive, hands, and no method of adjustment.
I just downloaded the trial version of Corel Painter Essentials 5. Once I figured out the shortcut keys and found the toolbar (The task bar was covering them up.), it worked great. It has everything I could ever want except transform (which, while a great time saving tool, I don't really need, as I am perfectly capable of functioning without it in traditional media) and comes at the low price of around 50USD.
For a long time, I was using a semi-bootlegged version of Paint Tool SAI. Poor students need to get by somehow. I've been trying to make the switch to a purchased program for a while, but never figured out how to get SAI specifically or found a good substitute. Switching to a Huion tablet forced me to change programs because the drivers are incompatible with SAI and also with any other tablet drivers on the computer.
Over the years, I have never begged for money over FA, but I am guilty of my share of bad actions in the name of survival. (Mainly freebooting and sneaking on public transport without a ticket.) Even if there isn't a clear harm, I think it's important to pay one's share when able, because it prevents the market from collapsing. Be a parasite when you must; but someday, go back and buy the DVD.

On the other note, it's good to pay back your debts, even if people don't know you owe them :p
A friend introduced me to Clip Studio Paint a while ago though, and so far I'm really liking it. Took a bit to get used to the different hotkeys and some of its quirks etc, but it's got a much more painterly feel to it than other programs I've tried.
I've heard good things about clip studio paint, manga studio 5, and illustrator (?) as well as photoshop elements.
I've got a legit copy of pscs6e, and its all i've ever used, so i'm not much help. ^^; I'm hoping whatever you pick works well for you and that you get appropriate funding! :3
PS Elements was terrible. Couldn't figure out how to actually paint. Illustrator was also too big.
Manga studio was really line-heavy, but I haven't tried Clip Studio yet. I'll look at it next.
