Stop ignoring the violence against gays around the world.

We all need to talk, whether we like it or not.
I know half of you live in Europe, and are very lucky to live in countries where you are not likely to be killed for being gay.
Right next door, in Armenia and Azerbaijan, just a glance away, there have been many arrest of gay and trans citizens.
Just a few hours to the south in Africa, people are being killed or jailed for life for being gay.
On this site, all those Asian artist you see, live in countries like South Korea where, while gay sex is legalized, people deal with mandatory conscription and are arrested since it is still illegal in the army.
These may be very tiring facts, but I am bringing them up to let you know that most of the world is like this; and that while we have support for the moment in relatively rich and well-off countries, that can change at any moment still.
Safety and the freedom just to exist needs to be guarded every day. And sometimes, we have to talk about how to help keep the momentum up in other parts of the world.
It is not just for those who are different elsewhere, but for us as well getting to be safe.

It is easy to forget how easy a lot of us do have it in terms of acceptance (at least to some degree) and as tiring as people may find these facts, it is important to never forget that these issues exist and address them where able
People do need to talk, not only of violence against gays but violence in general, regardless of reason or form, be it physical, emotional or social.
People need to care a little bit more
I feel like I am being too preachy or mean here, but I am not going let myself forget that while things are "fine" for now, things could still backslide around the world any moment.
And you are right, it is many groups that need help and attention.
Don't worry about being too preachy, better that than be silent
