People can't separate artistic expression from something that's being drilled into their head as "unacceptable in any manner whatsoever". Hell, I've been called a "confederate sympathizer" just for being born in Arkansas.
People are stupid. Especially when there's a mass of them.
(Aside: Saga of Tayna the Evil is amazing, and I suggest it to anyone who likes magic mixed with traditional combat and war. <3)
