Done moving... kind of..
Well we made the trip but the move didn't go quite as planned. Moved in with my grandma who has waaay too much stuff so I hadn't been able to find a space to set up my PC until two days ago and wasn't able to get everything set up until we pulled my computer stuff out of storage yesterday.
Most of my stuff is in storage, I was only able to bring a few things into the house because otherwise I'd have nowhere to put anything. There is no space here for boxes or bags, no room for shoes or clothes. I can't even access the room that was supposed to be mine. It's through a room that I can't get through because there's just too much stuff in the way, so I'm staying in my grandma's room for the time being.
I will not be able to draw until I can get my tablet out of storage but it is in a box and I would have to go through the box to find it and get it out. The weather here is just too cold to be able to do that. Standing there going through boxes in a room that's like a freezer just isn't what I'd had in mind for a new beginning. For now we're stuck here but we're searching for a place nearby that we can move into. Hopefully soon.
I've been sick since the day after we started driving. Slowly getting better but still coughing and sniffling. From the day we started packing to the day we got here I hadn't had a good night of sleep. One night we couldn't even find a motel so we had to sleep in the truck on the side of the highway. Fun times. When we got here I found out that there is no heater or AC in the upstairs so it's freezing at night. (My room is upstairs)
Anyways, obviously it wasn't a very good move and not exactly the fresh start that I wanted but I am looking for jobs and hopefully I'll get hired soon. The houses around here are old and many are Victorian style which my mom and I both love so she's been hunting but with no income it'll be hard to find a home. It's not a great situation but as I really have no choice I will make do with what I've got.
On a side note, my cat Oreo is taking the move fairly well so that's good.
