Hooray complaining to large corporations! Recently Future Shop has changed their debit machines. They've now got huge screens and it's practically impossible to be secretive about them now. It was pretty disconcerting so I decided to send 'em an email :D
"To whom it may concern,
Hello. I am a loyal customer at one of your Future Shop locations (****************). I shop there frequently and I've noticed that recently the debit machines have been "upgraded" to newer models. These have large LCD screens and are operated with the touch of a pen. An interesting innovation, but I personally feel uncomfortable using them. I feel I have much less security inputing my PIN number due to the large screen size, and the fact that it is nearly impossible to hide what you're doing. Even if the LCD screen can't be read from every angle, the large buttons and screen size make it easier to interpret one's button presses, and therefore easier to determine a stranger's PIN number.
I have been very satisfied with all other apects of your company, but I am starting to feel discouraged from visiting Future Shop in the future.

Their customer service rep responded in the same day, much to my surprise. They basically told me to stfu and gtfo though, pretty much ignoring all of my issues. YAY

Thank you for your feedback on this issue.
While we understand your concern, the new debit card machines are designed in such a way that the screen can not be seen unless you are standing directly above it. Hologram imaging on the screen makes it virtually impossible to view otherwise.
The larger screen and the use of a pen were designed for people with vision and dexterity limitations and has a Canadian retailer we subscribe to the notion that all our valued customers deserve and expect the very best services we can offer.

Thank you for your quick response, but I do have another question and I hope that it doesn't intrude on any privacies. Have other customers complained about your new debit machines before? I don't want to sound like I'm beating a dead horse but i found this article y'all should take a look at:

Besides, future shop sucks aftslit. Sounds like a good reason to shop at your local shops instead. I avoid future shop purchases as much as I possibly can.
