Thanks! they published a book and used some illustrions of mine and other artists. Just found all this stuff in the internet and used. I don't know if this is gonna be a single copy - some kind of a handmade scrapbook or if they are going to republish it again and again. I may be hypocritical as I use "pirate" programs and games (because I can't afford their price) but using other artists arts in commerciall projects sound unacceptable to me. One thing is using arts of huge companies - they do have their profit anyway, and other thing is using single lonely artists works giving nothing to him back... Again I am messy :-|

Well that does fall under copyright infringement actually.. by almost any definition, and I have known artists who won those cases..
But that's all I'll say on the matter besides that is is an obviously shitty practice for them to do..

Well... you can try contacting them.. I'm not sure where exactly you live, but I know at least in America legal threats are usually good enough grounds to get people to back off/compensate you... especially since if it goes to court, if the prosecution wins they can charge the defendant for all the legal fees so they pay nothing.

I can't afford the lawsuit and if they refuse to remove my arts from their book, I will try the threaten, hope it will help. My arts are color ones. I publush them in the internet in size of 707x1000px 72 dpi, so they can't be published even in A6 paper size without losing quality.
They did a great job actually with this book, but if only they spent money and time to contact artists or to order arts made specially for them...

My friend sent me a link with this photos, she thought that I know about this publishing. So it was quite a surprise for me to see my arts published! I do find them often as posts in social networks, but that's ok, as usually people tag me as an artist.

Well, about this situation. Those fellows promised me that they will remove my arts and at the moment they have done it on their words - removed photos of my arts at least. But they haven't given me any evidence of true removing - I mean the same photos without my arts.Nevertheless I calmed down so now I don't actualy care about this stuff. It is internet and publishing arts mean that people will use them every time they can.

Thanks! I will be sure - that no one get high resolution files of the most important arts by me now. I have never published my Fantastic Beasts in resolution bigger then 72dpi, 1000x707px - and printing such a stuff on a decent size will look awful And I will tell nobody that I don't care anymore Or may be I care, but not about these particular people. I am sorry to hear this has happened to you. Pirate is the correct term to use here. How to deal with them, I'm not sure. Usually dealing with pirates online with today's tech is quite difficult. Pirates usually know how to hack, so if you go after them, they'll just send you a virus and blow up your computer and laugh at you. The problem in this world is greed and money. Some of the fuels for piracy. If people see potential in making you a target to make money in using your art, they will do it unfortunately. The best solution is to stop posting art and take down what works you have here to protect your art, OR Encrypt them with a code to protect them, OR get the government involved.

If you keep having more of these pirates trying to steal your arts, then I say contact authorities, because this is unacceptable. Your works are amazing and deserve the respect, support, and compliments they get. I really hope you find a way to smash these pirates, because this is just revolting.

Thanks sooo much for your comforting words! I really appreciate your support, and yeah, you're right about pirates using everything they can reach for ther greed. It was just the first time I found out that my arts were stolen. I would be calmer if these were not the most important arts of my current art-life: my project with fantastic beasts. I have been working on for 1,5 years and have at least 1 more year to finish this project. I feel as this one is some kind of my child, so I am trying to be protective and ready to act like a dragon-mother with her eggs
This particular pirats have contacted me and we are discussing the issue right now. I hope I will be able to solve this problem out peacefully. Thanks again to you!
