It seems like the people who make a big deal out of valentine's day when they're in a relationship (really getting adamant about everybody not complaining about being alone, etc.), and the people who throw a mini-freakout when it's valentine's day and they're alone and miserable, are the same people.

It's not whiny so much as true. People who make a big deal out of things like V-Day will always find a way to make a big deal out of it, regardless of their situation.
