I hate life [Rant-ish]

I have no job, nothing is fun anymore, there's nowhere to go, nothing to do... life's boring. I hate it. Especially the video game industry. I never thought I'd say that. Video games have gotten to a trend where they have to be a certain way or they're "not fun". Well that trend has made them not fun for me. I hate how almost every video game now has this thing where the reward system is "Come back tomorrow for a better reward!" instead of "Come back tomorrow because this game is fun! Maybe you'll finally beat that tough boss!" Most games that do this are reliant if not totally focused on micro transactions to nickel and dime you for more money than an actually fun game would be worth. To me, fun games are like DOOM (New and old), Battlefield (4, 1, and the story for Hardline was good), and let's get retro for a minute here while I mention Pikmin, Pikmin 2, Gotcha Force, Super Smash Bros. series, Banjo Kazooie, Banjo Tooie, Shining Force, Vectorman 2, Super Mario 64, Luigi's Mansion.... Mr. Gaming Industry, why did you change? Who hurt you? People used to love video games because they were fun, not competitive. Why can't we have both? I remember when there was a small amount of truly competitive games and a lot of truly fun games. Now there are very few actually fun games, a lot of competitive games, and even more games that are addictive because of their "reward system" but aren't fun at all. I'm almost ashamed to be a gamer at this point. I'm losing interest and that scares me. I've been a gamer for almost 20 years and to know that's slipping away is a scary thing... During that time I have had a controller in my hand almost every day for at least a few minutes making progress on something I want to do. Sometimes trying something new or finding out a game isn't what I want to play. But... I don't know... I just don't know anymore. It's a scary thing to know that something I love and had fun with has changed so much and seemingly overnight. I used to wake up and feel happy knowing I would have fun playing my N64 or PS2 or PS3. Now I wake up and want to stay as far away from the online gaming world as possible... I've actually given thought to selling my PS4 and sticking with previous generation consoles, especially retro gaming - a time before games had to follow a "formula" to be successful. Lol! I was a Halo PC addict through college, but most of the gaming is casual these days.

Yup! I tried New Vegas, but Fallout 4 was my drug as I recovered from surgery last year. Went for the 'sexy librarian' look for my character lol.
Sadly They Know about this and put a little hole in the side where you can stick a Long paper clip in and Manually eject the disc. Even comes with instructions on How to do it! But they don't give you the paper clip...That's Extra! outside of that array of cheapness......it's a good system.
Yes! I've beaten Fallout 3 and New Vegas. I'm still playing Fallout 4.

Yeah, I play Long and Hard...like 8-10 hours at a time and she doesn't overheat, it just won't eject the freaking game!
8-10 hours is awesome for game play time. I spend about two hours every month doing gaming stuff. Maybe you can wire up a manual override button to get the disk to eject with the flip of a toggle switch?
I read on line that the eject tray needs to be cleaned and properly oiled, they show how to do it, but This has done this since I took it out the Box!
I just don't feel like tearing it down to do it yet....I've had it apart once before because I failed to follow instructions. ....I left it plugged in and tried to eject the game. It decided I was not worthy and sucked it back in. Then refused to load it Or Give it back, so I had no choice but to Operate.
Amazingly, I was able to dis mantel it And put it back together AND it work's Fine! if I wasn't Sooo aggravated at the time, I would have cleaned and oiled it while I was in there....but I was pretty up set at that point.
......also Holding your jaw a certain way seems to help too....
I have found there's Not Much that can not either be Fixed or Completely Fubared with the Appropriate amount of Beer Fueled Anger.

The BFR is a BFG for sure. I think Magnum Research makes it. That would be a fun in-game addition for weapons.

It's more spontaneous and random for me... Sometimes things don't inspire me and other times it just comes out with as little as a word

However,you are Absolutely Right about the Change in the Video game world. Game's simply are not as fun as they used to be. I've found the Fallout Franchise pretty stable thus far,and as Lucky Mentioned,Wolfenstein is good...Doom is a lot of fun also and your right about the "Big Guns"....Their pretty Damaging to Ones own Health I've discovered!
I don't know,I think like everything the game companies are just trying to reinvent themselves and reach out to the Younger generation. It's Not the first time. I'm going to show my Gray Muzzle age here and say I've seen it Before.....If you remember the old Arcade games or like myself remember back when Atari first came out...There have been a Lot of changes. The First video games where Nothing But sport's and Competition.Then as the Next generation came along they switched to Action and First Shooters.Then the Worlds had to be made larger,the Guns Bigger the Action Faster..More Intense. Then the "Big Boss" Levels became Obsolete for Open World Gaming. So you see,over the Last 30 to 40 odd years a LOT has changed in gaming.And a lot of it has been so gradual that you didn't even notice....But rest assured,it will come back around. Right now i think they're just stretching their wing's so to speak to see who takes interest.If no one shows any excitement,or say's Hey This is a Great Game Platform,then they will always fall back to what they know and likely Re Release a whole bunch of Old almost Obsolete titles that You and I remember well to regain their foothold in the industry once more.
So in short....Don't get Frustrated my friend,just take a break for a little while.

But they will always fall back to what People Really like and what sells the Best!
