"I haven't read it yet but..."

. . .WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU COMMENT THAT?! WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU LEAVE A COMMENT SAYING YOU HAVEN'T READ IT YET?!?!?!? THERE'S NO POINT IN DOING THAT IF YOU'RE NOT INTERESTED IN READING SOMEONE'S STORY!!! THAT'S LIKE SAYING YOU DONATED TO THE NEEDY WHEN YOU REALLY DIDN'T, OR WAVING HELLO TO SOMEONE WHOSE SLOWLY DYING ON THE SIDEWALK AND YOU CONTINUE WALKING OR TELLING SOMEONE YOU'RE INTO A KINK THAT YOU HATE JUST TO GET IN THEIR PANTS, OR EVEN WORSE, COMMENTING ON A PICTURE THAT YOU DON'T LIKE SAYING "I HATE IT" WHEN COULD'VE SIMPLY LEFT IT ALONE AND WENT ON WITH YOUR LIFE!!!! And I seriously wanna strangle the "I haven't read it but I bet it's good" ones.

It's not called "being nice", it's called being inconsiderate. You probably got the writer's hopes up thinking they got a sweet comment or a detailed critique and getting a "I haven't read it yet but..." is like hitting a brick wall for them. If you come along and read an enthusiastic story summary and don't have the time/feel like reading it, before you submit a "I haven't read", save yourself from being looked at as a snobby, illiterate "laz-reading" jerk and DON'T. And no, we're not gonna wait on you hand and foot to write a tl;dr version of our stories.
